Also whipp the eggs seperately before adding the milk. Don’t ask me why but it tastes much better if you do. wealso add a pinch of salt tot he mix. Makes the bread a nice brown color.

Friend of mine was out on Friday. Him and his uncle got 1 sauger and 1 buffalo. Saw 1 fish caught off the float and no others caught in boats. He said he would have been better off staying home and .
March 31, 2009 at 1:52 am #764061All the trout streams I used to fish as a kid. Suger Creek, Pine Creek, Plum Creek.
March 30, 2009 at 8:42 am #542337Nice fish!!! Very cool. And no photo that has background so nobody knows where he caught it.
March 29, 2009 at 11:02 pm #545842Thanks guys!!! When I put my arrow on “My Home” it listed the 6 drop down and I knew non of those showed the list.
March 26, 2009 at 12:02 am #762638I ate at Stacey’s about a month ago, the food was very good, but they close at 2:00 at least on Saturdays. Plus there was a cop in there so the coffee and doughnuts must be great.
March 22, 2009 at 10:32 pm #761283I heard there were still guys on De Soto Bay yestersday, Sat. 3/21. How safe was it and did they catch anything? Were they still out there yet Sunday?
March 16, 2009 at 12:28 am #758866I fished there today. Pretty slow, fished from 6:30 to 3:00 for 3 perch and 4 crappies, non big enough to brag about. Also lost 3 jigs. If I’m going to fish with minnows I guess I need more than 2 lb test. In fact rerigged 2 poles tonite with 4 lb. Even the bass on tip ups were slow today. Only saw 1 caught.
I know a guy who fished there both Fri and Sat. He got about 20 crappies each day and a 6-8 perch. Most of the perch on minnows, most of the crappies on green glitter jig.
Going back early Monday, as the biggest fish bit then. Lots of ice yet too. Good hard ice. Very little slush on top.
March 13, 2009 at 12:24 am #758005There is also a lot of good ice in the area around Prairie. Gills and crappies have been hitting good. There is also a bait shop on Cty K just north of PDC. It is about 3 miles north of Cabelas on Hyw 35, turn left onto Cty K and it’s about 1/2 mile on the left, Cty K Pit Stop is the name. Water was low, river at 8.2 this A.M., down .2 from yesterday. Good luck and have fun.
March 5, 2009 at 12:10 pm #755248Talked to a guy yesterday who said there was a truck up there Tuesday. I know some guys taking a 4-wheeler up there today.
March 5, 2009 at 1:40 am #755144Somebody was down there ion the far end again this A.M. They were working the same area as Monday. Perch and crappies very slow this A.M. too.
March 2, 2009 at 1:05 pm #753983I use 2lb test Stren Magnathin. One fish was a walleye. I saw the white tail as it flashed at the bottom of the hole. The other 2 were too deep to see. I did see a couple of northerns caught on tip ups so it could have been those.
March 1, 2009 at 8:05 pm #753768Fished the Bay last Wed. & Thur. Caught 13 perch on Wed with 5 being 11 inch+ and 1 crappie. Also had my line broken twice. Caught 8 perch Thurs but non over 10 inchwes and 1 crappie. Also had line broken again. Very few fishing Cold Spring yesyerday mid morning and even fewer today (Sunday). When we went by Stodard yesterday there were 30 cars or so, today ZERO!!

Where is the pit stop located? I may need to stop if it is on my way.
There is also a place to get bait just north of Prairie du Chien. It’s called County K Pit Stop and is located just a bit off of Hyw 35 north of town. If going north turn left onto Cty K and the place is on the left just after the first corner. I’d say it’s about 3-4 miles north of Cabelas.

February 17, 2009 at 6:44 pm #749527No big chewing tobaccy stains, no cig butts, no wood chips/sawdust from waxworms, no golden rod grub pods, so I’ll say no.
February 17, 2009 at 2:18 am #749259River is open below Lynxville dam. Falling Rock boat landing is open.
February 11, 2009 at 3:27 am #747037Was out by New Albin today. There was 12+ inches of ice in Minnesota Slough with water on the ice. The water was running down the holes and the ice had not started to honeycomb, still clear ice. They drove trucks yesterday and 4 wheelers today. However there is a creek that empties in right by the boat landing. It was eating the ice out very fast today. Be careful of that spot tomorrow.
February 2, 2009 at 1:17 am #743512I fished De Soto Bay Sat 1/31 in the morning. Caught several bass 10-12 inches. Did catch 1 crappie. Guy with me got 1 perch. His flasher was marking fish but they would not bite. Nobody else getting much either. Went up to Blackhawk, very slow there too. Will try again Thursday??
