Pug, I would spend more time practicing your hookset before worrying about the lastest in lures.
I think you are talking about the new decal that must be affixed to your boat, with the bottom part of it attached to your trailers upright. This is new this year and different from the one a person might have gotten from a boat inspection at the ramp.
They were handing them out at the Mpls boat show, and I am sure in a few weeks at the spotsman show. Otherwise I would think a goverment ctr would carry them were you renew your tabs.
Back in the hunt yesterday for the first time, and it was good to be on point. Had the pleasure of fishing with Flaco651 for the day and after a bit of searching we found some crappies and those well sought after metro jumbo perch. First we tried “Pugs point” with nothing to show for it, but once we moved into 14-20 fow we found the crappies both on the bottom and suspended at about ten feet. The bait of choice was jigging waxies but we did have a few hits on the crappie minnows we had out also. It was a fabulous day out there, and now that spring is hear hope to do it again soon. As for ice, we measured 12 inches everytime we drilled a hole but not to take away from being carful out there.
Thanks again Ryan, hope to see you soon…..
Before switching to Okuma, I sold a number of the tekota’s to a number of the catfishermen. I also use three on my trolling rods and have no problems with them. I think once you learn how to cast them you will really enjoy it. Hope it works out, and when I join you this summer I get that rod.
Brian, Since she is now setting up my drug boxes for the next week, I don’t think this would be the time to start anything.
Being home is no great feat for what all I am able to do around the house, but sure beats my single room and a nurse who wakes you every two hours day and night. Thanks all of you for your hopes and prayers, not something one wants to do even during the off season. The next three months are filled with pulmonary rehab, and a lot of clinic visits for lung tests, x-rays, and blood draws.
Thanks again to everyone, and I look forward to the Bass opener next year.
One thing I can’t seem to remember right now is if Pug owes me money, how much it was…….
Glad to hear all went well with your dad Paul, I hope recovery goes well for him.
Thank you, hard to imagine in a few more years I will turn fifty. The Mrs has off today for hair day, so hair cuts and maybe the dog park for Heidi. I still need to get to the garage and put the batteries on the charger, with the weather forecasts I might have to asault Nokomis one more time this weekend.
Thanks again,
I wish all three of you the best of luck tomorrow, my prayers are with the FD in this time of trouble.
What a difference a few days makes with some wind, lake looked a lot cleaner than Monday. But I did bring some fatties along just incase. Managed a couple limits (all released) of some small walleyes and the brother once again came up with this Bass to jump a head on the leader board.
Don’t quit doing what your doing quite yet, the bite deteriated these past few days. Two tigers and three Bass on Saturday, five Bass and no tigers on Sunday, and when we made it yesterday morning there was only one Bass for the entire lake. These dog days of October when the temps are in the 80’s sure play havic on the bite, let alone that green slime sure made its self known by Sunday….yuck
Hoping for better days come next week, or work on my tan but bring some fatties.
Mike W., Sorry I can’t make it to the big show tomorrow, hope all the people who are fishing it the best of luck out there. Hope to see a lot of good pictures and stories by the end of the weekend. Also to all that are, please be careful out there…….
I second that on Blue Fleck, he has been my go to man for decals for years.
They do work great, now if we could come up with a product for those people trying to hold Sturgeon. In reference to the picture on the back of the sports page in the Star-Tribune, and yes there is s guy there if you look.
There was a gentleman with the right idea last year or the year before. Where everything could be hosed down and a large removable cutting board off the side for cut baits. Easy trailering, and just the right size for the smaller rivers. If one needed to do pool 3 or 4 for instance I would just call BK if his boat didn’t stink of walleyes.
Haven’t used one in a number of years, but they are called easy outs. What happens is you drill a hole in the droken bolt and as you tap (screw) in the easy out which is left handed threads, it puts pressure on the bolt and unscrews it. Sold at most hardware stores….Hope that helps
Are you offering scenic tours also now? or were you out scouting fish for Saturday?

Can you expound on that a bit? I didn’t think there was Milfoil or invasives in that body of water or are you talking about length or numbers here?
At the top of page 16 in the 2011 Minnesota fishing regulations handbook under “Brazilian Elodea”….Seems a few years back someone thought it good to dump their aquarium (sp) in there.
Haven’t got a spot nailed down yet, but it would be anywhere on the Minnesota from Cedar down to just south of the 494 bridge on the Mississippi.
Pug, haven’t been down there for a while, but the last time I was the 494 bridge was still on the Minnesota, unless you are talking the 494 bridge in St Paul then I stand corrected. Wish you the best of luck where ever you end up.
