I put a trolling plate on my 90 horse Johnson. Boat is a Alumacraft 170 Trophy. Without plate i also troll 2.8 mph. With the plate i seriously only crawl. It proves to be a little difficult to handle the boat in a strong wind with such a restriction on the motor. Im thinking of drilling a few holes in the plate to actually gain alittle speed.

Sorry guys should have been more specific. I will be moving my 90 horse Johnson to the new boat. Currently I own a 170 Trophy. Would like to stick with this style. Timmy, I checked out the StarCraft on line. Thanks for the info. Im currently restoring a 1969 StarCraft Starchief, great old boat.

Cabins were all booked. Not remodeled rooms are not good. Wigwam changed us to the new rooms when we asked. Our stay was good caught fish in the river all the way out to Garden. Cant wait to go back
