I must be missing something on those Ego slider nets. Neighbor left one in my boat and after using it its horrible. Round handle, heavy and the extending feature is useless while fishing alone. Might be a better net if you have someone netting your fish.

If you are looking for something that’s not shoot em up action check out Senna on Netflix. Its a formula 1 racing limited series about drives from the 80s. Pretty good racing action in it and story line keeps it interesting between the races.

They are legal to use but I sure try to stay away from them. Issue with them is that they can move after being installed and start to leak. And in most situations there is better options to use. You will find very few sharkbite fittings on a plumbers truck. Handymans truck will be full of them.

Give it a try if you don’t think you have a better option. If it doesn’t work or you don’t feel good about it pull the toilet so you got room to fix it right.

Pretty sure nobody noticed you over there.

Few days later watched one of the so called guides up there run the bow of his boat into the rocks on the corner up there. Pretty sure I’ve never seen a boat go 4 wheeling like that.

Seem to remember the river opened and then froze over again last year. We got in on the 2nd time it opened and what a bite it was. Sure hope it’s something close to last year but you never know on the Rainy.

Personally I think the main goal of AIS inspections where I’m at is to make those that have property on the lakes happy. Without the inspections I’m sure some of the local associations would be trying to limit access to the landings. Not a lot of intelligence in some of those associations.

North of Mille lacs they are all paid. I’ve heard $18 to $22 an hour. Wouldn’t be surprised if they get something for the vehicle to. Have seen young and old doing this job and also run into a few people to worthless to even apply for a job like this. It might not be a great job but atleast these folks are showing up to do it.

On one hand it seems to create jobs for older folks or those that need a little extra income. On the other side having these folks sitting at ramps that might see a boat or two a day if any doesn’t seem like the best use of our money.

Terrible what those soldiers had to go through. What a mess the other side created. Let your people starve to death then start a war with those trying to help. Try to help or don’t help the US is the bad guy.

I think some fire places have a switch near the gas valve to turn the remote on and off. Try turning that off and back on.

Fish that are released have a better chance of surviving than fish that ate kept.

Thanks for the work guys. Wish I could of helped.

Yep, that bite is pretty decent. I got out yesterday afternoon and caught 22 in a few hours. Had one launch a bait back at me. All my years of fishing and this is the first hook I’ve had past the barb.

Going to need to get the chainsaw out first for the shore ice. Wouldn’t be surprised if the wind takes care of a lot of the main channel ice tonight.

Mike W. is spot on for you Matt, I can be a really simple fix. Even repacking them is easy.

Since we’re talking valves, it’s a good practice to work every valve in your house once a year.

Thanks guys. I wondered if I could just back that nut off and retighten. I can try the one above the meter but the one below I have to have the city shut the water off. I gotta look into that.

I tighten up the ones before the meter to. 1/4 turn of the packing nut is typically good.

Just be careful when shutting those valves off, depending how old they are. Lot of times they’ll leak at the valve

Dealing with this right now. We just had a softener installed and shut the water off to the whole house. Now the valve at our meter is seeping. That’s not something I am going to tackle by myself.

Most likely a packing nut leaking on that valve. Simple to fix. Just back the nut off a 1/4 turn then tighten it up. Just about any valve I ever touch I tighten the packing nuts at the end. Shut offs under sinks to.

Turn off the waterunder sink, disconnect hot, and turn it on into a bucket. If you have good flow it’s probably cartridge in faucet. If you don’t then maybe deposits or broken gasket in supply line so you can disconnect that and repeat test into bucket.

If you turn on the cold side while doing this it might back flush the hot side out under the sink.

If that doesn’t take care of the issue look at the shut off valve. I’ve found a few that the rubber washer have come apart and clogged things up.

I like to drill plenty of holes and keep moving. Some days it seems like all you may get is that first fish or two out of a hole. Then it’s time to move again.

I just picked up an Eskimo pistol bit from Tutts for $99. For that price it wasn’t hardly worth fixing my old auger. Works good so far and comes with an extra set of blades.

A few nice ones are still biting. Wasn’t our biggest fish of the afternoon but photos of the bigger one didn’t turn out.

Getting to the end of the 2024 pool 2 report. Good news is the river is still open and there are some fish still biting. Was nice getting out on Christmas day and setting the hook a few times. Sure hope to do the same for New Yesrs.

Back in the day it was a fan. Just something to circulate the air otherwise the top bunk was 100 degrees and the bottom bunk was 40.

From my experience if you get a decent water softener there isn’t a lot to go wrong with them. Heck even a cheap one if something goes wrong just disconnect it and slap a new one in place. They all come with a bypass valve to.
