I agree with the “get your own well” crowd.
As a sewer and water contractor, I’ve heard of this exact situation many times.

Torch. I’ve had a small oxygen / acetylene set up for a long time. One of the best tools a do it yourself person can have. If you get a torch set, make sure to also get a very small welding tip. Great for concentrating heat in a small spot.
Impact drivers are great also.
I was on woman and leech a week ago. 58-59 woman and 58 on leech.
Too bad he’s not in your scope sights for that…….
Lights on around the house and all neighbors too. They stole the neighbors Audi about 15 houses down. It was unlocked and the keys in the glove box.
You could see the car leaving the subdivision by several cameras as most neighbors have something.
Police found the car about a week later undamaged. It was being used to steal in neighboring towns. Multiple FLOCK cameras in several towns picked the car up and followed it to southside of Chicago shortly after it was stolen and later when it was used in neighboring towns.
I have Wisenet cameras. Six are up and I’ll put the other two up soon. Hard wired.
Here is a recording from about a month ago. This was taken by my cell videoing the screen the hard drive is connected to. It’s better on the monitor.
I seeded my yard. I took a few years to fill in but looks really good. Choice of grass is a plus.
I was once told by a landscaper that does large projects in my area “Sod is like a prom queen. Looks good in the beginning but gets a little rough looking later in life. What you see now is the best it will be. Seeded yard will keep getting better with age”
I had a neighbor at my old house that had more creeping charlie than grass. A nice spray along the fence line (his side) with weed killer once in awhile kept the creeping charlie back.
For my yard, a broadleaf killer worked. Took a little time to kill it but it did work.
I did the same at my dad’s house.
I use fluid film also. Stinks like crap but seems to work good.
You can buy longer straws online to get way into tight spaces. Works great inside door panels, vehicle fenders, frames etc.
There is only one toll once you get into Illinois. You will be turning off the toll road and taking I 39 south after the toll. You will be free of tolls in Illinois.
Not sure if your heading south of Indy through Louisville Ky but there is a toll bridge to get into Kentucky
Ipass works on the toll bridge along with others.
I’d go online and set up the pay by plate if you don’t want a transponder and enjoy your trip. Not sure if pay by plate works on the Kentucky toll bridge.
I have had Bearing Buddies on my trailer since I bought it in 2010. I do 5-6 trips from metro MN to the I-Falls area yearly plus many more short trips to local lakes. Never a bearing failure.
As with everything mechanical, you need to be aware of the maintenance needs. You can’t just fill the BB’s once and forget them. Check the springs regularly and keep enough grease in them to maintain spring pressure and you will never need to disassemble and repack bearings. Read the manufacturer’s instructions.
On long trips, at every rest stop I check tire temp and hub temp with my hand. It’s never been a problem, but it only take seconds.
I have experienced the same.
We have had bearing buddies on three boat trailers in the past going back 35 years. Never a problem with bearings. Like already said, maintenance and periodic checks go a long way to keeping your hubs and bearing happy.
I’m really big on preventative maintenance. Maybe it is the mechanic in me as I really enjoy working on equipment.
I thought he had been battling Covid. Sad news indeed.
I’ve fished against him in some local tournaments. I saw him often out on Illinois river and Heidecke lake. Always friendly.
Prayers for his family
This one hits home for me.
My daughter lives in Bowling Green. Fortunately, she was out of town getting ready to deploy over seas. Her home is ok but several friends lost theirs.
Happy thanksgiving to all. Especially to our military members who are not able to be with family. You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Michelin defender ltx
Kind of pricy but they perform great and last.
Whatever you choose, get the best you can afford. Maximize your chances if in a hazardous / dangerous driving situation.
Dont want to hijack, but can Ardex be used to repair spalling?
I’ve got a couple areas inside my garage that have spalled where my wifes rear tire wells are (assuming from the winter salt/slush melting off over time).
If so, would CP or TRM be best?
Thanks
Yes. I’ve used it for that. I use the cd fine Ardex.
I’ve even used some with small pea gravel mixed in and repaired a broken edge about 4” deep. Going on several years and looks great.
Boulder creek faststak here. I did my fireplace and breakfast bar.
Mike, Thank your daughter for her service, you as well Dan. Tell her to be safe. Lots of extra prayers in our house for our Military right now.
Thank you. I will let her know.

one last trip before our daughter deploys to the Middle East for 400 days. Please tell her thank you very much for her service. I’ve spent 20 months of my life in the Middle East so if your daughter or you as the parent have any questions please reach out. Again, thanks for her service at an unsettling time.
Thank you. I really appreciate this. Thank you for your service as well.
Once my boat is back in operation I’ll be spending lots of time on leech. Rainbow and a jig bite is always up at the top of my list in the fall!
I’ll be bring the jigs up for sure.

We hit the Anchorage at least 4 times each trip up. Wild rice omelet is killer. Never tried the pizza. Have to give it a go. Any tips on eats in Walker. Usually take the wife up there one day. Take her to Reeds so she can check out the ladies dept.Ya, that BBQ place kitty corner from Reeds has it dialed in.
The Piggy???
I’m going to be there 2nd week in Sept. Have heard they have a <em class=”ido-tag-em”>perch bite if you hit it right in Sept.. Been there 3 or 4 years for a week around the opener. !st time in the fall. I may hit Winnie one day with my big boat. But also taking my kayak to checkout small lakes if it’s not happening on Woman Lake. Can we say Woman, Man, and Boy lake. Or they all just Person Lake now.
Baby has a public launch. you can get a bigger boat in. I don’t fish Baby much anymore but have a lot of time on Man. Specifically in summer but never in the fall.
Should be good fishing, spinners, crankbaits, jigging, depending on water temperatures. Check out the podcast.
I’ll check it out
What dates? Things can change fast depending on weather and water temperatures. Check out <strong class=”ido-tag-strong”>walleye talk podcast for the time period you are going to be there.
Last week of September
I was planning on fishing leech one day just to try it, woman / baby / man the remainder of the time.
I’m very familiar with baby / man just not this time of the year. On woman, I’d probably fish the main lake unless local reports tell different.
As far as species, we usually fish walleye and smallmouth bass just for fun. Perch are fun to catch but we don’t plan on keeping any. I rarely keep fish anymore unless they are unreleasable. I just enjoy getting out and spending time with family.
As Gino said, get the best you can find. You get what you pay for with brake parts.I’ve used all different brand I’ve the years. The cheap stuff never runs right or last as long.
A good rotor will have a coating to prevent rust. Like the originals.
I’ve used it to blow the water off a car or truck prior to towel drying after a wash. Gets most of the water out of the grill, wheels, side mirrors and other tight spots. Makes for a fast one towel drying of the vehicle.
@MikeV Any particular lube you use? Are you talking just a can of regular silcone lubricant spray or something designed for this purpose?
I just used whatever I found in the auto parts store. Regular silicone lubricant.
I have not noticed any gelcoat problems with my ranger.
This is a great way to spend time and learn about repairing / maintenance of equipment that can help him in the future.
I did this with my son. He went the losi route with both 1:10th scale and 1:8th scale.
There are many options out there for you and your son to enjoy on a budget also.
If he really starts to get into this, check out local tracks. Great way to keep kids busy.
Another trick I’ve used when I know I’m going to be using a shallow launch is spraying silicone lubricant on the bunks. After getting the boat in the water, let the bunks dry some and spray. Let the silicone “dry” before use. You may need to apply several times a season depending on use. I use a whole average size can per application about once or twice per year
Don’t unhook your boat from the winch strap until it is backed in the water. It can and will slide off the trailer with very little effort.
