March 22, 2004 at 5:29 pm #297756Hail the Flashlight King!!!!! I’m at a comfortable 37, I just purchased a new leaf blower but I haven’t made the 48 hour rule yet so I need to wait until later in the week.
January 8, 2004 at 4:43 pm #287871Well it depends, if you buy one of the packages that they offer then yes it does. These packages also include meals transportation etc. Check out their web site at sportsmanslodgelow.com and then go to winter activities.
January 8, 2004 at 2:36 pm #287849Been to Sportman’s Lodge the last four years and have always had good to very good success. Check out their web site and look for the fishing report link. We typically use gold jigs, but last year the biggest fish came on a hook suspended about 10′ up from the bottom. Bring a vexliar if you have one, it helps a ton.
December 30, 2003 at 1:40 pm #286849Sounds like may of us did well, I guess my constant hints also paid off. I received a Vexliar FL-8SE with a genz box for Xmas. Thank goodness for Cabelas catalogs, just tear the page out and leave it laying around the house, works great.
Happy New Year!
November 11, 2003 at 7:57 pm #281578Yep that was me, had my dad in the front of the boat with me. A great day to be out, then again when isn’t it a great day to be out on the water. Now I just need to get my buck early next Saturday so I don’t miss to much water time. Freeze up will be here soon. Next time stop by and say hi!
September 10, 2003 at 6:17 pm #275860I pay $1.15 per foot per month for a pole barn with dirt floor about 1 mile out of Red Wing. I can also store boat and pwc trailers in the buidling during the summer months for $35 for the season, which saves on tires a ton.

April 25, 2003 at 12:46 pm #265097Thanks to all for the provided feedback, I’ll give it a try tomorrow morning.
April 22, 2003 at 1:52 pm #264836At this point there is no decision on the shut down of the plant. The issue stems from the need to store additional spent fuel rods in dry casks storage units at the plant. The plant itself is licensed until 2014. If elected officials don’t approve additional casks at the plant it is likely the plany will shut down on or near 2007. Hope this answers your question.

April 2, 2003 at 8:13 pm #262837Sorry should have noted that in my last post. Yes I’m talking about Bay Point and Colvil Park.
March 25, 2003 at 2:05 pm #255431Bay Point and the main (east) ramp at Colvil are still closed with a great deal of ice. The small ramp at Colvil by the marina is open. I would recommend Evert’s Resort as the best local option.
March 12, 2003 at 7:05 pm #254353Both Bay Point and Colvill are still full of about 10″ to 12″ of ice. I will post an update as soon as they open. Your best bet will be to put in at Evert’s resort, they have a great ramp and an even better bait and tackle shop.

December 4, 2002 at 2:08 pm #248861Yes the plant is down right now but I believe they will be back on line by Christmas.
July 8, 2002 at 1:06 pm #229919I am supportive of your efforts to keep full access to Minnesota waterways, but at this point I think a few other details need to be pointed out. When we point a finger at someone it is: one, important to rememeber that there is usually more to the story than we all know, and two make sure we know the WHOLE picture before jumping to conclusions.
I have known the CEO of Red Wing Shoe and his family for most of my 40 years and I must say that they have done more to support environmental issues over the past number of years than I could do in a lifetime. One case in point. Over the last 30 years they have supported, in the millions, an outdoor educational program for youth ages 12 to 18. This program has benefited hundreds of area kids and provided and example and fostered a number of other simliar programs throughout the state. He has provided this support without seeking gain for himself or recognition for he or his family.
I do agree that blocking a natural public resource for all of us to enjoy is not the right thing to do but to assume that its a bunch of rich guys who don’t care about the environment and the recreation it provides is wrong. The posts make it all sound so black and white and, as we all know, no story is ever that clear.
Thanks for letting me provide my view point, I know some of you might not agree or care, but I thought it important to provide the insight.
