Dinosaur-I was in the boat with the golden retriever, talked to you at the landing when we were done. Thought you were somebody from this site-who else would be willing to go through all that ice! Posted how I did on another thread, thought you were DaveB-guess not.

DaveB-I was down there also on Sat. We had the golden retriever with us and we talked to you when we both left at the same time. We did about the same as you, 25 fish-19″ saugs and eyes biggest. Fished about 3 hours also. I drove by there today and there was no ice that I could see from the bridge, that would have been nice yesterday! Going to Mille Lacs tomorrow so I don’t know when I’ll get back down. See you later.

I was out on Sat. evening and didn’t get a thing, I didn’t understand it. I casted wingdams and trolled the shorelines but nothing. Any suggestions?

Two of us went out last night from about 4-830 and caught 9 eyes. Most were small, 6 around 10″, 2-17″, and a 22″. Caught all of them trolling shad or risto raps in about 10 ft. of water. Caught them all just upstream of the Mn confluence. Seemed like the current was pretty quick in a lot of areas, maybe I just have to learn how to read rivers better. This was my first time to the river in the summer. Deezee, how good does the fishing get in the 494 area in the fall? . I hope to make at least a couple more runs down to 494 yet this fall, where are some good spots for summer/fall, north or south of the bridge. There’s still signs up that hidded falls will be closed from Sept 3 to mid Nov. sometime. Thanks for your replies.
