November 28, 2013 at 3:02 pm #1367307Danny and i headed out on a little adventure this morning. We drilled random holes out a mile from the resort. On average we found five to seven inches good clean ice. Rogers resort will open the access tomorrow to four wheelers. We also have a few rentals for our on shore special this weekend. See u soon. Good luck fishing. Justin from up north

November 18, 2013 at 8:37 pm #1364852I am pretty sure that Rogers resort on the south shore is a wheelchair accessible resort. U could always give them a call and talk to Joani and tell her justin from up north fish house sent u her way. Goo luck fishing

October 1, 2013 at 11:15 am #1197799Sorry about the previous post. I should have said he had all our wheel houses out by December 14th using our suzuki samurai’s. good luck fishing.
October 1, 2013 at 11:08 am #1197797That is all out crazy. Never thought a fish could eat that much in that short of a time period.
September 30, 2013 at 7:03 pm #1197706We put these heaters in a couple of our fish houses and we just use the template that was sent with the unit. Seems like a big he but u still get plenty of heat around the intake pipe so u do not want anything touching that pipe. Always good to follow instructions.
September 30, 2013 at 4:54 pm #1197668At up north fish house rentals they will still be throwing out the great deals for early ice fishing. The sleeper houses will be set up on shore at Rogers resort for people to stay in while they use there portables during the day. Yes the suzuki samurai will be out in full force
September 26, 2013 at 10:53 pm #1197052I think another question that has to be asked is how many of those crappies are on the side that we cannot fish. On lower red lake there are many areas that are over thirty feet deep. Just because you don’t see them in the shallow areas that we can fish does not mean they still do not exist. Just a thought.
September 24, 2013 at 1:05 am #1196441At red lake the last two years we have drove out our suzuki samurai”s with wheel houses behind them. Hoping for the best this year. Good luck fishing
September 24, 2013 at 12:58 am #1196439The crappie report is very slow in the winter. We had eight of our rental houses out on December 14th through late February and our customers caught a total of 14 crappies all year. Most were not targeting crappies and fishing real close to the bottom. Back in the crappie boom it seemed like a person could do no wrong when it came to fishing them. My wife and I did get a good number this spring though so lets hope for the best this coming winter.
September 20, 2013 at 11:20 pm #1196092I would check out UP NORTH FISh HOUSE RENTALS out of Rogers resort on the south shore. Very good accomadations and great customer service. Ninty five percent of there houses are wheel houses so they are always on the move and very affordable. Good luck fishing
December 19, 2012 at 2:46 am #1121785Just call justin at 320 492 4461 he is out of Rogers resort red lake
December 12, 2012 at 1:08 am #1119595The fish are still biting and we will be putting out our hard sided houses tomorrow. Most of the fish are coming from dead sticking with a plain hook. We are fish from seven and half a nine feet of water. Justin b
December 6, 2012 at 3:48 am #1117831I just arrived at upper red lake today and it seems like there is plenty ice. There is a solo eight inches out there. Rogers is still letting four wheeler traffic out and talking about letting wheelers with wheel houses out this coming weekend but that is not a for sure.
December 6, 2012 at 3:44 am #1117830Iam an outfitter on upper red lake and have both sprint and Verizon, we have no troubles at all. We get all Internet services also so you should be good to go
December 4, 2012 at 10:40 pm #1117438Justin from up north fish house rentals will let you rent a sleeper house from him. They are all parked on shore waiting to hit the ice, just a little to thin yet. He is getting 35 dollars a guy which beats driving to black duck or bemidji plus he always is looking to deal on bigger groups. Give him a ring 320 492 4461
December 4, 2012 at 12:54 pm #1117207I would call this number 320 492 4461 and he will hook up up no problem and really really nice place. Another nice thing they are out of roger resort.
November 29, 2012 at 3:55 pm #1115974We prefer using a number 2 gama hook with a vanish flouro carbon leader at least three foot. Also do not forget a swivel. On upper red we prefer a fresh shiner on a tip up just because they are native to the lake.
