Some eyes from Harlan today. Buddy and I got 10 in 2 hours. Biggest was 24″. Kept a few of the smaller ones for eaters, but put the big ones back.

I was there this past weekend and caught limits both Saturday and Sunday of whites. They were nice sized with no dinks like last year. The best times were the first two, and last two hours of the day between Hunter and Mill Creek in around 9 foot or shallower. The gulls weren’t there all the time, but you could see the shads busting all around. I tried slabbing on the deeper dropoffs during the day, but didn’t do as well as last year with the slabs. Rattle Traps in chrome were the ticket as well as Vibrax spinners. I caught them mostly casting.

I have LMS 339C IGPS that had the same problem till I sent it to Lowrance. It was still under warranty. After it came back, I have had no more problems.

There were some big cats taken below the dam a couple of weeks ago. The lake is open and there were some limits of whites taken this week slabbing.

Thanks for all the info from everyone! We had a great time even with some challenging weather slowing the bite some. We got our fill of eater eyes every day and got some nice northern action as well! Look forward to coming again some day!

Thanks for all the good suggestions! I have upgraded Hot Maps chips for my Sonar/GPS and I talked with the folks at Rainy One Stop and got some good tips. We are actually going to arrive there next Saturday the 15th and stay the week. We will be easy to spot, we are from Nebraska, so our plates and boat numbers will give us away!

Hey LuvEyes, have the crappie moved into that boat garage behind you yet?

I didn’t try, but I saw some other folks were there giving it a shot.

My Dad and I were there this weekend and got this batch of eyes yesterday. The lake looked wonderful!

Hi Brian, I have used them at Harlan this past year and the whites just went crazy for them! My dad caught a nice keeper eye on one and it half swallowed one of the 1/2 oz ones. We were using shad and firetiger colors. I buy mine here in Lincoln and I have got some from Tom at Tall Tales. You can also buy them on the Reel Bait website. Have you hit Harlan lately? I am going up tomorrow and next weekend for the pheasant opener.

I was out there a few weeks ago and the bite was great! Lots of whites and eyes.
