CrappieRock looks as if nobody’s been out west yet. Maybe i’ll head out and check the ice with ya and see how thick. Send me a P.M.

We were vertical jigging with fatheads. Green jig. We fished from 5:30-7:15. We were fishing the slower water on the southside of the Miss.

We were using jigs and fatheads. Some guys were using ringworms.

I don’t live far from the landing. I’ll try and get down there this morning. I will see if I can shovel and get more ramp exposed and it should really melt today.

At least one boat went out of hidden falls today and one on Wednesday. I think hidden falls is doable and am going out tomorrow afternoon. There is snow at the top but the bottom has really melted.

I spoke with a guy as I was leaving. He said they had caught a few walleye’s in the 14″ range in the last few days around sundown, but nothing last night. I was able to jig a couple of lookers off the bottom around sunset with one hit. It hit rather hard but missed the hooks, possible walleye but you never know.

Thanks for the response. Not much chatter on this River web site. Were you on the wisconsin side or the MN side.

We were out on Saturday night from 3:30-7:30 with two 9+ inch crappies. Lots of marking on the vexilar. We were on the Wisconsin side across from Bayport. There is right around 20″ of ice.
