Can’t speak to “usually”, as I’ve only fished it once.
But, it’s a highly developed metro lake…gonna be dark-ish from fertilizer run-off alone.
It was dark when I fished it.

Fish Lake in Maple Grove is a pig pen.
Fished a small club tourney there a few years ago (September time frame), and the winning bag was 6 fish for 22-23lbs. Winners caught them on frogs on the pads and soft plastics on docks.
Nice body of water.
Good luck.

I have hunted extended family property in the Portage/Pardeville area for the last 10 years. Your property is in prime big buck country. I would think you should have no problem getting $1500-2500 for the archery season(s).
100 acres of timber can support 2-3 hunters easy. A small group of archers that are familiar with South Central WI and interested in having a real opportunity to hunt the rut and potentially shoot a legit P&Y or Booner, should be willing to pony up the dough.
Your note is late notice however…you need to get your note in Craigslist in June so guys can get in there and tune the property up (get cameras up, scout, hang stands, trim shooting lanes, etc…).
Good luck!
Good report Cline. Hope you slay that big boy.
Here’s the result of my Halloween sit in Wisconsin.
Good luck!

I saw a pile of those black pheasants (wild) hanging out in some CRP land I hunted in NoDak, a couple years ago. Very cool birds.
Roost in trees and made a racket in the morning, when they flew down.
Funny stuff.
Oh, disregard Grouse. Those pics were from last year’s model – not this year’s.
Sorry about that…
Yep, bought a couple last year.
Here are some samples…
Great report sticker. The lesson in all that…learn to shoot from a seated position!!
Shot the Grim Reaper Razor Cut for the last four years. Flawless execution as far as deployment, brutal penetration. I did not get pass-thrus on two of the last four deer I shot – including a total broadside shot last year @ 25 yrds. These were non-shoulder hits. I’m pulling 70lbs, and was shooting Easton Axis arrows. Plenty of weight and KE.
Decided to give the Dead Ringer Rampage a try this year. If they don’t satisfy, I may go back to the Muzzy’s.
We’ll see…
Two items…
First, regardless of what you buy, the dealer you buy from is most critical, IMO. You want a place that can service it and specializes in the lawn equipment space. I bought my mower from Doug’s Power in Blaine. They are terrific. You will struggle to find deep expertise at any big box store – regardless of what you are buying.
Second, the specific unit I bought was a Husqvarna YTH24v48. I spent 3 months shopping, comparing and contrasting. When it came down to it, I got more features for the money with Husqvarna, vs a Deere or Toro. Plus, I wanted a unit that my wife and kids would operate, so that eliminate the zero-turn units from Mfg’s like exmark.
I have 1/3 of an acre. It took my cut time from just over an hour, to about :15 mins. I have some elevation changes and it does fine climbing the hills, even in damp conditions (make sure your decrease the tire pressure when you get the unit home – as is stated in the owners manual.)
I have been very happy with the Husqvarna and would recommend it.

The only rut activity happening, will be in the states that border MN. The state of MN no longer supports a deer herd.
I put down two in WI, on Saturday. You have some work to do!

Nikon’s stink, IMO. I burned through 2 last year. The housing of my first one (Nikon – Archers Choice bought in ’12) started to break down after about 6 months. Had to tape it together. The second one I bought last fall wouldn’t work at all, when the temps got to single digits. Both were in the $175 range.
Like someone else said – you get what you pay for. Yeah, I could have returned them and gotten new ones, but I decided to just reboot and buy a Leupold RX800i. Been very happy with the performance. Construction is better as well.
Be sure to check out Costco. They have a co-branded deal with Ameriprise…
Based on my quick assessment, Leslie appears to bring a great deal of biological plana background to the party, but what does she know about the “X’s and O’s” of big game herd management? Outside of a brief stint with some elk in Alberta, there’s not much meat there. Time will tell I guess.
They should have included wolves in her purview…since they are intimately related to our big game herds.
I’ll continue to pass on hunting big game in MN for now…my money is better spent pursuing big game in other states.
