I have the same flushing set up on my Suzuki 4 stroke. You can flush it without having the motor on. I also remove the pee hole when flushing. I dont know if its the same on a Yamaha. If you flush with the engine on, be sure you have a hoise with the earmuffs attached to the lower unit water intake running. Flushing will not send water to the impeller to cool the engine.

Camp Lacupolis at the lower end of Lake Pepin has limited space for trailers and tents. Electrical and water hookups are available. Call Bea at 651-565-4318 for availability.

There use to be one in Dresbach,MN., that was limited to township residents, but that was 10 -15 years ago. Rules might have changed since then. If you want to check it out, take Hwy 61 and turn off at the Dresbach exit. Follow the park signs down to the landing in Baeder Park.

I had mine installed at Smitty’s Marine in Lake City, but I believe you do.

orca, did you order the chrome hubcaps with it? Protects against stone chips from cracking the housing. Also gives the trailer a real spiffy look.

The system costs about $90 if you install them yourself. More then makes up for the costs of replacing lost Bearing Buddiies, blown seals, bad bearings, repacking, etc. The initial investment might be steep, but its well worth it. Also leaves more time for fishing since you dont have top perform the above maintanance. A 12oz. bottle of LiquaLube cost approx. $15 here in the Chicago area. I still have some remaing in the original bottle that came with the installation kit from 5 years ago.

Thanks for that tip Tom, I’ll ask. I’m at that age where I have to wear tri focals. Also, I had the doctor measure my bi focal prescription 8 inches instead of the standard 15 for easier knot tying and it works. Dont have to strain my eyes as much.

Diagonally across from Lacupolis. Water levels have been dropping the last few days. Try the sandy stretch at the south end and the middle part where the 2 tallest trees are. If you camp, look for any of my lures hung up in the bushes.

Switch to the LiquaLube system, http://www.liqualube.com, and you wont have to worry about it. Plus, no annual repacking of bearing, etc. I’m going on my 5th year with them. Just change the liquid biodegradable lube every other year. Quite a few pros on the circut have it installed.

Ferny, is yours a tiller 1660? I have the tiller model and I had my dealer build a rod locker from the front platform, going under the electronics locker, to the rear livewell. Very convinient.

If they are the same KHertz(200?) the signals will interfer with each other and give false readings.

I hope you’re right. I would have gotten snookered if I bought them at the site I visited. Bobber, you wouldn’t know if they do make a 12/24 volt combined system like the Optima Troll Fury, would you?

I was at their website yesterday. They’re suppose to be one of the best for marine applications, but they are pricey. $225 and up. I need 2 for my 12/24 volt trolling motor and I didn ‘t see where they make a 12/24 volt system like the Optima Troll Fury. so I guess I’m going to stick with Optima.

I assume you guys are talking about regular polaroize sunglasses and not prescription or bifocals. Anyone recommend a good pair of polaroize prescription sunglasses?

I’m running a ’94 Olds Bravadac coming up to 105,000 miles. Just regular maintanance plus one set of new tires in 9 years. Only minor problem is gas caps. I’m on my 8th one because I keep forgetting to put them back on when I gas up.

I interpert it as, once you put the fish in the livewell, it counts as in your possession toward the legal limit you are allowed and cannot be deposited back in the water. So, if you are fishing in a tournement, you’re going to have to think twice about keeping those 15 – 15 1/2 inchers.

Stay home Joe. I’m from the Chicago area also. I came up Sunday to get my boat ready for the season and do some fishing. I didn’t launch because of the high water and its going higher yet in the next couople of days. Minnesota has had 3.89 inches of rain so far this month. Normal for the month of May is 1.10 inches. Save yourself a trip. I e-mailed my wife and told her I’ll be home early.

I never keep any 15 – 15 1/2 in walleyes. for some reason they shrink in the livewell.

John, use the uniknot system for tying two lines together. In this case, mono and braided. Thats what I use and haven’t had any problems with slippage.

Thanks for the reply, tgif. NAPA has a store in town and its convinient to get to. As far as I know, my TT batteries are still good. I’ll be checking them this coming week when I get my boat ready for the river.

The reason I’m looking for gel cell batteries is because I leave them in the boat during winter storage and dont have to worry about the electrolyte freezing up, but the main reason is I’m getting too old to lug a pair of 70 lb. batteries off the boat and store them indoors.

Steve, thanks for the reply. I know they quit making them for puplic usage. Thats because they got that miltary contract. Heard nothing but good reports on Optima batteries. I’m starting my 4th year with the TT’s. That include the starting battery also. I also figured it was time to start looking for replacements this year. You hear anything on NAPA’s gell cell batteries?

Hey John, the seagulls will devour the bread before you have a chance to interpt the drift.

basspack, a 2 bank charger will have two sets of wires, a positive and negative set for each battery. When you install, just connect positive wire to positive pos and negative wire to negative post of each battery and leave them on. Main concern is where to position the charger. Be sure it has good ventilation around it and the plug-in wire is accessible to you so that you can plug it into a electrical outlet.

Dave, what do you mean by “eats battery charges up for breakfast” , now you got me worried. I also have Trolling Thunder baterries with a Guest 2611 charger and I’m wondering what problems you had.

Me too, Ken. I love that topwater action so much that it account for about 90% of my white bass fishing. You ought to see my collection of poppers and prop baits for this. I use a Hula Popper with the jig trick you mentioned.

Glimpy, there is no best digital camera for fishing pictures under $200. You’ll eventually want to transfer them to your computer and print some of them to show around. I have to go Jacl one better and say minimum of 3 megs. Start saving up money now and comparison shop on the internet. Go to http://www.goggle.com and type in ‘digital cameras’ in the search box. In the mean time, maybe you have a friend with a camera that you can invite to go fishinf.
