I was a non-boater in bass tournament a few years ago and the boater had a 21 ft Skeeter with 250 Yammie (if I remember correctly). I will not forget that we hit 73 mph GPS speed on the way back to the weigh-in and it was a single console…..could hardly breathe.

Thanks Curmudgeon – I use Stren Super Braid on both baitcasters and spinning reels when the situation calls for it. Never had a problem with it except once in a while I’ll get a loop over the rod tip because it is so limber. They can be a beast to get out too.

    Hi Guys –

I’m new to the site but thought I might be able to add something to this post from my experience.

I have always been a Super Braid fan but because so many people post opinions about how great Power Pro is I decided to try some last year. The experiment lasted about a month before I had to rip the Power Pro off my reel.

I found that it was much stiffer, cut into itself on the spool more, and lost its color much faster than the Super Braid.

Of course, a lot depends upon what you are used to also so that might be a factor in me not liking Power Pro so much.
