Thanks Jeff, I’m ready to long line or pull lead if they are deeper. Also contemplating Denver rigs.

    Thanks again,

Pepin is rolling tonight. Hopefully it settles down a little bit tomorrow. Thanks for the insights. Gonna start off with some blue and some natural colors and proceed from there.

I have the kitchen sink ready to throw at them. Any depth suggestions for a starting point? Hopefully the electronics give me a clue to where to initiate the search.

James/Joel, Thanks for the excellent information. Will be down there this weekend trying it out. Have had decent success trolling flatline, boards and lead core on Pepin in the past and am looking forward to dialing up the speed and trying this out.

Any difference/preference for upstream vs. downstream?

    Thanks,

    KT

I’m curious about the process of pushing a boat out across the ice. How does one do that and then how does one get the boat loaded back on the trailer? Both seem like they would require some expertise, guts and perhaps some serious problem solving skills. There have to be some pretty entertaining stories out there amongst the actual best safe practices.

Steamboat hadn’t really turned on as of last week although there were some in there. I suspect this week is a different story. McKenzie was good – didn’t try the Sandbanks though (no need to battle crowds).

On HDS 5, the Waypoint keypad screen for naming your waypoints there is a “More” button in the lower right corner where the green OK button should be. You cannot select this button and it forces you to press the menu key and then select OK to save your changes. Also, the “More” button has two selctor dots on it (one highlighted blue the other not). These are also not accessible.

    Per Lowrance:
“Yes it is a bug but there is an easy workaround. When ready to accept the waypoint name, press Menu and choose OK.”

If you network your front Lowrance to your rear Lowrance via the ethernet connection, you will be able to view the sonar from the Terrova on the rear unit and visa versa. You cannot however, view both front and rear transducers on one unit at the same time. When networking is turned on, both units will display one or the other, when off each will show the transducer to which they are connected.

Workaround: If you have structure scan you could split screen and display the front sonar on your rear unit and also show the downscan/sidescan from the structure scan transducer.

A long battle with the wind Saturday produced just 3 small saugs and 2 just under eyes. Trolled cranks, jigged rip rap, and bottom bounced. Bouncers were the most productive. Mminnow or crawler on a 5-6′ snell with a single bead.

Did real well this weekend on Pepin. Thanks for all the help! Dragged jigs, Drifted jigs, pulled a few cranks and played some bumper boats in the more popular spots. Had a limit of eaters on both Sunday and Monday by 8:30AM.

Thanks again for all the info,

Sorry BK, got there in the afternoon Sunday and I think Dean got ’em. He seemed to share your affinity for the PB.

It was a beautiful day out there. Unfortunately I was the consummate guide and “let” the others in my boat do the catching. I’m a total river novice so I wasn’t surprised. I always seem to forget everything I read and learn about once I get on the water. Maybe I have ADD? I don’t know, perhaps. I love to learn new water tho so I’ll be back.

NOOOOO Mojo – Don’t change it! – longer loop if anything.

Oddly when I’m in my boat and there’s a little chop those girls hardly move ;-)

I noticed in looking at i-Pilot at the store that the remote beeps when you press a button. I understand that it is a helpful feature, just wondering if you can turn beeps off?

    Thanks,
