Those jigs you are talking about are made out of a craft hair. My Dad has made them for years, If you take a real close look it is the same hair that you find on the old troll dolls

how do you fish these things You never here of anyone using them in Iowa.

HIGH 30’s in a city lake in MO. the fish tipped the scales at 8lbs. The bait was a home made black and green live rubber Jig.

I like them when using bait. They seem to work well in sand but not very good in he rocks, Iam working on a standup jig for dragging in the summer I let you know how it works.

Eagle makes a real nice portable unit, it runs on a 6 volt battery and the transduce will mount on the transom of your boat just make sure that you use the safety string on the mount because if it were to come off you might loose the whole transducer and they are not cheap. Welcome to IDA these are a great bunch of people and you will learn alot.

My, Dad and I have made our custom jigs for as long as I cam remeber. Its a great hobby and is alot of fun you can make colors that you cant buy and sell them to your buddies. The cost in not that bad and if you look you can get real good deals on paint, lead molds and hooks. Between my Dad and I we carry over 1000, all year and can make any type of jig we can think of. I think you should go for it I sure am gald that my Dad tought me how to and I cant wait to pass it down to my kids

Can you fish these areas from a boat? Would love to come up ther and give it a try this Spring. The cedar down this way is pretty bad with all the plants that dump into it.

The best old swim bait by unclejosh was called a springlizzard pup it was about 3inches long and fish could not abuse it at all. Also it made a great trailer for a live rubber jig. That was the hot bait back in the 80,s in Kansas.

highrite jack plates are used alot on the bass boats I know that they are made in Nixa Mo. Had one on my old boat and it worked great for me. also check out bass pro they might be able to help.
