Ya know, TB rods are awesome but super expensive and as you know the better the graphite the easier to break as an unwritten rule. Not a huge fan of JM rods but they are cheaper and great for portable of fish house fishing not so much on ice (guide freeze). If your anal with your equipment like me TB is a good investment. If your the usually teenager don’t waste the extra funds (I’ve broke two) by others feet and stupidity. Not a cheap break I miss my rod more than my old fishing buddy

I grew up 7 miles from where they build Warriors up there in Maple Lake! They are by far the best in my mind. Gotta get one on the water… a dream to run
April 14, 2013 at 6:08 pm #1162483Probley true Just got a kick out of a simple missed spare went gutter ball, then the gal gets high five from her teamates! Wow, that just explains a lot about the gender difference

April 3, 2013 at 11:56 pm #1159121what”s a cheap chain set up like… How many feet, gauge, clasps etc. Always had cheap anchors
March 16, 2013 at 6:52 pm #1152734Bummer, Rainy is a dream trip. Pool 4 is a great fishery but, dealing with all the traffic is a joke in spring. One guy tried to hit me with his fishing rod last year because we were in his spot. Hope you have fun, I enjoy getting away from the stupidity that goes on with pool 4 during this period. Good tactics… don’t forget the pitching jigs or blades the big girls tend to go early and late in the day on that.
February 20, 2013 at 1:00 pm #1143826Since your going out of Mac’s it would be a waste of gas and time to go out of Garrison. If you want the mudflats the closet resort that plows to them from where you’ll be is Hunters Point. It’s been a different bite during the day this year, don’t expect too much during the day hours unless you stumble upon a perch party under the ice! Good luck fishing!

February 19, 2013 at 4:55 pm #1143515The bulb needs to be pumped until no air bubbles. Always push blue compress button after each pull. Let warm up a minute before using… Nothing to know otherwise for cold starting otherwise (read my manual).
February 19, 2013 at 4:41 pm #1143500I’d call SM to get one sent to you… Any questions on the unit in the mean time, I have one and love it
January 30, 2013 at 8:51 pm #1136337I have been a hardcore vexilar guy all my years until I got an LX-5 two years ago. They are very very sensitive on fish seperation (not just a big red blob). With that said the durability is an issue and I won’t even look at the digital ones (mo’ money mo’ problems). I’m truthfully waiting for Vexilar to come up with as tech sound of a machine as Marcum. Then I will go back for the durability. If you sit in an heated ice house all day get what you will, but some need a heavy duty machine like Vexilar too.
January 30, 2013 at 5:43 pm #1136255Yep, agree no need for anything bigger than an 8″ unless your fishing Browns on the bigger waters. I used to have a 10″ for what I thought would be awesome for walleye. What I found was it’s way easier for the fish to go ape sh*t at the hole and get off. A nice 8″ keeps the big boys in line. If a person is worried about room for a flasher well… maybe try pulling it outta the hole when the fish is a coming up. It becomes routine after doing it a while.
January 30, 2013 at 3:23 pm #1136217My guns would be burried before that would ever happen. My point is if I want a certain gun down the road and they outlaw it… I would consider that taken away “our guns” you know we the people type thing .
January 30, 2013 at 3:02 pm #1136204The 2nd amendment was a part of what are country was built on. No agenda here. Just sick of being told what to do by our Gov’t, they have no right to take away our guns! If you think it’s fine that’s great… But, don’t drink too much of the kool aid
January 30, 2013 at 1:56 pm #1136160I like Strikemaster, have had two in 17 years of ice fishing and the old one is still kicking butt! ION looks interesting but I wonder how much a new battery costs down the road. That’s if they make it in this ultra competitive market. A plain old Lazer mag 8″ sounds like a winner for you! Check out reeds.com you won’t be sorry.
January 30, 2013 at 1:43 pm #1136155Wow, you must hold Dayton in high regaurd. I understand we must contact our “State” representatives… Was not referring to Dayton. Look to the top, since this is where the Gun Control Bills are coming from. Nothing partisan about it, he said he would like a ban on certain guns in the past (senate days) and now it’s a possibility. But, being a minor in politics, I would be uninformed . I had to spend four years listening to my ultra liberal professors jam their ideas down our throats! Or just watch the news on a daily basis, that is uninformed patisan politics. But, some believe anything on tv and the web.
January 30, 2013 at 3:50 am #1136109The question is compared to where in Minnesota? I lived in Brainerd for three years and now I live in the bluff lands. No comparison, I seen more deer in one deer season down here than I seen all three years up there.
