Yes they can be very territorial in the winter and I have seen the same large fish caught a couple times in a week. One was so bad we had to move the house as it was the ONLY fish we could catch or see on the camera over the course of a couple days.

I forgot about you two coming way out on Red Lake with me and no freaking lunch. I mean who goes nine miles across the lake without a snack? Hope you liked the Tabasco turkey sandwich.

If I was going to take a shot at you Joel it would have been more like….what are those, women hands you are trying to keep all covered up and toasty warm
I would have went more along the lines “Do you really need another sandwich?”November 29, 2010 at 5:41 pm #913092Quote:
Yes, nice show as usual. However, I would have stopped fishing after I caught my limit. Not sure if “party fishing” is legal??
Yes I am a bad bad man. Bringing this incident to light has made me rethink my actions and I feel an admission of guilt is in order for to go on with my life. A couple years ago while moving my furniture I tore the tag off my mattress. I fully knew and understood it stated right on the tag it was a federal offense but in complete disregard for god and country I tore the tag off. I have also had a long standing problem or compulsive behavior when it comes to crosswalks. Now being from the country I am not used to the big city and all the lights and I have on several occasions walked outside of the crosswalks when visiting the city. This impulsive and reckless behavior had grown so out of control I actually once went before the walk sign turned on. I apologize and accept full responsibility for completely disregarding the safety of my fellow man. I have attempted to turn myself into the only law enforcement office we have in the area. Although the local warden was more concerned I had suffered a head injury when I tried to make it right with concerned citizens such as yourself Cory and we got nowhere filing the report.
I thought long and hard about a response to your comment that would not only express my regret for upsetting you but also put at a level you could understand yet all I could come up with is :
“I’m rubber and you are glue.”

I see jonny p very busy baiting bears and then laat night I saw he found some time to wet a line .
Between bear baiting, helping out at Beacon Harbor while Dean is gone, a few runs to LOW for promotional work and a few guide trips mixed in on the water has kept me busy the last few weeks. I also see Kelly and Patsy are getting read to start putting the shine back on the ice houses along with some 110v wiring and new flooring for this years season…always something going on for a sleepy little town.

Pictures 3&4
great pics! One of mine had 734 coon pics in 3 days
I had over 1600 pictures total to sort through, about 1450 of them where coons or skunks.
August 19, 2010 at 2:45 am #85627Otter sled is the only way I drag them anymore. Self contained, goes over logs and water with ease and real great thing is it keeps the blood and mess out of the back of your rig. They also work well for pulling your stands in and out of the woods.

…and what poor ones we have. I often wonder how many times bear watch me tend the baits.

Jonny your a hard working man
Were the scrapes and bruises from your new friends ??
No the scrapes came from a low hanging branch at 4AM and the bruise was “R” is for reverse…the wheeler backs up fast, even faster when you stand up then lean forward to take off frontwards.
August 14, 2010 at 1:25 pm #85216Well a 22 hour push, one busted truck a couple new friends…NOT, along with a few scrapes and bruises and I only have ten or so baits left to to make.
The go back to the start and begin sorting off sows and cubs.
July 30, 2010 at 9:10 pm #84107As a guide I have seen a ton of bear that have been arrowed and the Rage is a great blade for bear.

July 9, 2010 at 2:44 pm #83183LOL. Nelson will have to tell his bear baiting story from last year. According to him the skunk looked like this…
July 9, 2010 at 2:37 pm #83180He just keeps trying. No matter how many times he gets blown up, tangled up in his rocket skates or an anvil falls on his head the old [censored] just keeps trying to get the damn Road Runner. My hero.
July 6, 2010 at 11:44 pm #83109…but this time we will give you a skunk shooter to defend yourself. In fact we can make it your job to go out ahead of the hunters and clear skunks from the area…they would like that.
Yes by the time the hunters arrive we have cut the baits down to half by activity, the daily route goes from 160 miles to about 90 miles, twenty plus Rivers Edge stands have been placed and ready and we have the slide show of active bear rolling in the bear center. This year should really be interesting as I am expanding into even more territory, silly bears think they are going to migrate south for milky corn, HA! We are gonna follow them the twenty miles to the corn fields this year.
July 4, 2010 at 3:04 pm #83042Best trick I have seen is putting the feeder up on heavy duty and tall stilts or poles so they can not reach it. Of course this means you have to carry the feed up a ladder to stock it, a big pain in the butt.
If a bear smells anything good he will go through great lengths to get the good smell. I have seen them shred iron boxes, pull down trees and even dismantle structures for something to eat or something they think smells good.
July 2, 2010 at 1:48 pm #83013Mine is simple. I want to hunt Nebraska Archery turkeys, then South Dakota Hills turkeys then hit MN gun before flipping over to Wisconsin for the final bird.

I really dislike you guys that even have deer like that! Around here eight points and a 16″ spread is a monster.
Nice mount.
