    If you pull your exhaust apart in front of cat. converter and go for a short drive, it will be noisy but you will know soon if anything is pluged in the exhaust system.

    I think you are on the right track with the fuel pump,some times when the fuel pumps get older diaphrams in the pump will strech when they get warm, and don’t pump the proper voluum of fuel. this causes a lean condition that will make the engine run at a faster RPM.

    I found a thing that helps me learn the operation of my locator. If you go to the home page of the company who makes your electronics you can down load a demo version of the modle of fish finder you use right to your desk top.
    I down loaded my version,and I can practice on it any time I want through out the year.

    I haven’t seen the cable you are talking about, but I have had the same thing happen hooking cables with the anchor on several lakes in Wisconsin that I fish. I don’t know what they are used for eather, but would like to know. Is the one you seen coated on the outside with plastic or rubber, or is it just a steel cable?
