Will fish the upper lakes on the Winnebago system. The fishing should be pretty good with the spawning complete. Good luck to all, wherever you wet a line.
Got to use the gold line last year for a day as a coangler. I really liked the the line and it was easy to a secure a knot on your jig. It had to be at least 10 pound test, as you could bend the jig hook getting the jig out of the rocks. Very impressed with this line, plus we put some fish in the boat that day. Planning on using both the gold and green this year. Will leave the pink stuff for the girls to test . Good luck and happy fishing
The Wolf and Fox Rivers meet just south of the city of Winneconnie. This is also the west end of Big Lake Buttes de Mort. The closest landing that will open first, will be the landing at Winneconnie. Hope this helps.
Yes, I have fished it. Will proably get the boat wet there when I start fishing again this spring. Normally a couple of boats fishing the area. Usually enough activity to keep your concentration up. It is always a fisherman’s surprize to figure out what you have on the end of the line . You can also work spots up to and around the railroad bridge. Lots of room to play and try different stuff. The Fox seems to produce best when there is good current / higher water. Good luck and happy fishing.
Kevin, The power plant you are thinking of is right at the mouth of the river going into Green Bay. It is also across the river from the Metro boat launch, so is is very easy to get to. Besides kity cats, just about everything that swims, is in this warm water discharge in the spring. Good luck if you decide to try it out. Happy fishing to all.
Hope you get some good replys to your post. I am also interested in digital cameras. But, you ask for a tall order – user friendly. To me the only thing that is user friendly is what the good Lord gave us – fingers, toes, mouth, etc. and we didn’t need a manual to figure them out. Happy fishing
The article I read in the Appleton Post Crescent stated that the big girl is 60 inches long and has a girth of 30 inches. It was entered in the Post Crescent Master Angler contest for catch and release. With the formula listed, that puts her at 61 pounds plus. WHAT A FISH, and she is still swimming!!!
