Are you a little flexible on the price ? Say $ 250.00?

I have a 91′ Dominator, I purchased it used with a 40 hp. and repowered it with a 60 hp. I am glad I did, I personally really like the boat.I like the wide gunnels and storage areas. There are a lot more features that come on more expensive boats. My advise to you is max out the HP if you can, you won’t be sorry you did.
Fancaster,
Nice report, but I have to ask a question not directed at you but a lot of members in general. Why is it that when somebody has a report of catching X amount of fish do they say “But I(we) only kept 3 or 4 out of 12 keepers” Do people have to justify that they are conservationists? Just posing a question.
I am very sorry to hear the sad news. I too lost my best friend (brother) to cancer a few years ago. If it is any solace, there are a lot of people praying for you and your family to help you through this difficult grieving process.
Rootski,
I have a similar boat and was contemplating on redoing my boat just as you did yours. If you don’t mind,my question, How much did that cost you to have that work done?

River,
That asking price seems a bit high to me. I picked up my rig a few years ago for $4,200. It was in very good to excellent condition. If you do a nationwide CL search you will find some newer Dominators with larger motors for less asking price. About the motor, mine had oil injection along with tilt and trim.I never had issues with the injection system.Other poeple might have had different situations with the oil injection. What ever rig you buy, make sure you have it checked out buy a reliable marine mechanic. Other wise you could be buying someone elses headache.
I have a 92′ Dominator and love the boat. When I purchased it, it also had a 40hp Evinrude(tiller). It performed just fine when it had two people and gear in it. Once you started loading it down with more people and gear it took a bit to get on plane. I up graded to a 60 hp. and maxed it out,I really like the extra HP.These are stiil great boats. How much are they asking for it?

I have a Triumph, and I love it, I also have a fenwick, to me it is a toss up between the two. If you decide on the Triumph i don’t think you will be dissapointed.
JJ
Sandman,
I’m with you, there is always someone out there who feels ” they” have to protect the resource. I take it that guiding is Riverdan’s livelyhood. Do you really think that he would squander a resource that would put him out of business? Any ways, nice fish Dan!

I can see the reasons for letting big walleyes go,but at times it seems a little childish. It was stated that 3 big walleyes went in the box.Who knows, maybe these are the biggest eyes they have ever caught. If they can legally keep them, I say good for them. Now before a person assumes I am nothing but a meat hog, i am not. I release all of my big walleyes I catch. It just seems that if a person does not have the same personal slot they are looked down upon.
Mike,
Hey thanks for the quick response, also thank you for the info.on where to fish and launch the boat. I really appreciate it!

Wally,
A friend of mine runs a 97′ competitor tiller with a 60hp merc.I have fished out of that boat numerous times,it is a great boat and has alot of features that you would probably like.Especially the rear baitwell! It is a heavier boat so the 50hp might not give you top performance(It is rated for 60hp max.)But if you don’t load it up to much I think it will be fine.If I could I would pick one up in a heartbeat!Hope this helps!
Joe,
I figured out my problem with my low RPM’s.I purchased a Tiny Tach to verify my existing tach on my boat.It turns out my tach was reading 750 to 800 rpms low. With the Tiny Tach it shows that I’m turning 5400.Thats right towards the top end of recomended rpms. Those tiny Tachs sure are slick,it beats taking it in to a shop and dropping 100 bucks to check out your rpms! Thanks again for your input.
Jim
Brian,
I have a 1991 Dominator,I love the boat!I would liken it to a slightly smaller version of a tourniment pro(It doesn’t quite have all the bells and whistles).IMHO they are a great boat.
JJ :
Maybe if I move it back to the top I might get some more input.
JJ
