Yeah, but then you’d have to have a Verado on the back.

I’m happy to have a Verado on the back. All the performance numbers I have seen indicate the Verado is just a touch faster than the Offshore, price was comparable, and I take some satisfaction in the fact that my Verado was made in the USA. Honestly, I was tempted to wait for the Offshore last spring/summer. I’ve had several Yamaha outboards in the past, T8 kickers were great, 175 HPDI VMax was great, 250 HPDI not so much. I’ll wait until a bunch of those Offshore’s get 200-300 hours on them without major powerhead issues before I jump in. The 250 HPDI left me a little cautious. Verado has been nothing but impressive so far.

I’m running a 300 Verado on the WX2100. Propped with a 21p Rev 4, best I have seen was 62.1, usually more like 61 ish. Numbers are GPS with boat fully loaded (5 batteries, full of fuel, all gear) and one person.

I haven’t seen any performance numbers on the WX2100 with the 300 Offshore, but based on comparisons of 300 Verado vs 300 Offshore on the Ranger 621, it seems the Verado is just a touch faster on top end. Based on that, I don’t think 62 is realistic with a 4 blade prop, but I would think it should be with a 3 blade. Looking forward to hear what you guys with the Offshore’s are getting for performance.

2010 WX2100 walkthrough with 300 Verado and 9.9 Pro Kicker
TR-1 Autopilot on the 9.9, wired into the Humminbird 1197 on dash. Digital gauges opened up one of the small gauge holes in the dash, put a compass in there. Also have 798 in dash and a 788 on bow. Hamby’s keel guard. Road armor on the trailer.

101 Terrova with I pilot, ram mount to secure head of Terrova to hull when running. Standard Horizon Quest X VHF radio (also wired to 1197 so panic button transmits lat/lon)with 8 ft Digital antenna. AM/FM/CD radio. Bert’s 6″ tracks for downriggers. Rails front and back. Folbe rod holders on rails. Made tool holders out of King’s starboard to hold pliers, jawspreaders, forceps, etc and just recently added shelves for under the consoles (picked up at SBC)

I troll big water alot, and would not be without the TR-1 autopilot. Spendy but worth every dime.

They look like Okuma Clarion’s with a different paint job.

I put mine on the gunnel, starboard side right above the throttle/shift. Trim the cable so you only have the length of cable you need, coiled VHF cable can cause transmission problems.

I’m sure it will fit. I’ve got a HB 1197, which is comparable size, on mine. Mount with a big ram mount so you can move it around a little to position just right. My local dealer has actually put HDS7’s in dash on the WX2100 with a little extra cutting.

My old ZX2050 and current WX2100. I really prefer a white interior to keep the heat down in the summer. New one main color is Moondust, old one main color is Naasau.

Chris -the only reason I wouldn’t catch you is that you know where all the boulders are up there, that might slow me down a little. If I ever get up that way I’ll have to look you up.

I’m running a 21P Merc Rev 4 prop on my WX2100, which has a 300 Verado. Top end so far is 63.1 Ran the same prop on my ZX2050 with a 250 HPDI, which produced 60+.

The 4 blade prop gives outstanding rough water performance on these hulls, allows you to stay on plane at much slower speeds. Merc makes adapters to run their props on Yamaha outboards. I would definitely recommend the Rev 4 prop.

Are they big enough to hold Plano 3700 boxes?

Do you have them in stock?

Mine was initially mounted on the transom to the right of the ladder (1st photo). I was getting a little “noise” on the screen, presumably from turbulence related to the step hull. I moved it to the lower step (2nd photo) and it really cleaned up the images.

As for speed, the SI works up to about 8 mph, if you have the Y cable the unit will automatically switch over to the “shoot through” transducer inside the hull, so at least your traditional sonar continues to function.

I’d like to see some photo’s of those shelves. Always looking for winter projects.

Really nice color combo on your new boat.

Anyone know if the Ethernet capability of sharing transducers between units will be released as a software update for the 1197 and 798? If so, any idea when? I just checked HB website looking for updates, latest for the 1197 is 4.950 which came out this summer (already have)

I would really appreciate this feature. Hope it’s released before spring.

No backing added, and had no problems this year running Cannon riggers with 12 pound balls. Mounted with #12 stainless screws and white silicone around the edges

You shouldn’t have any problem hitting 62. I’ve got a 300 Verado on a WX2100 with a walk through, got 63.1 two weeks ago. Had about 30 gallons of fuel in the boat. That’s with a 21P Rev 4 prop.

Thanks for the pics. That’s about where mine is mounted. How fast can you move and still maintain the SI and DI?

I had the dealer install 6″ Bert’s tracks about 1″ behind the rear anchor cleats. Riggers attached to Bert’s swivel base, slide in easily. When the riggers are not on the boat, there’s a plastic step pad that slides in. We talked about the strength of this area, he said “no problem”. My previous boat was a ZX2050, had them mounted in the same area on Versa Ball mounts with a board across the back and it worked fine.

I prefer to have the kicker on the port side, mine is hooked to a TR-1, rarely if ever use the tiller, most of the time it’s locked in the upright position.

I’ve got Merc’s on mine so can’t speak to the rigging tube issue.

I’d like to see some photo’s of HDSI transducer installation on a WX hull as well. I’ve got a WX2100 with the HB 1197 HDSI transducer installed above the step hull. Dealer did this to prevent damage to the ducer from striking something. The performance is pretty good up to approximately 8 mph, then the signal is gone.
