    3) Different brands use different chemical makeups. A few years ago I had used a Banana Boat product and after a few weeks the coating on my both pair of my sunglasses began deteriorating. I have not had that problem with any other sunglasses with other sunscreen brands

Makes you wonder what that stuff is really doing to our skin dosen’t it? I know as fisherman we need to use the stuff but its crazy to think of the chemicals we put into our systems without even knowing it.

Thanks Kooty, I guess I should have read a little further. But I still don’t think I would have figured it out without your help. Again BIG Thanks to you Kooty.

wrapping the antlers in a heavy layer of aluminum foil also works wll if you bury them in the ground to keep the rodents at bay. After a couple of months in the ground some minor hosing off is all that it takes to clean it up. Or if you have the area to do it and a strong stomach a 5 gallon pail of water works wonders also for a euro mount. The problem with the water is that you have to change it out every couple of weeks and the stench is not good. Quickest way though is to make sure to cut all of the hide off of it first. Very easy to do it yourself.

someone on here a while back gave up a crowd pleaser. It is kinda time consuming but well worth the effort. Take some jalepenos and slice them in half and take out the seeds. Then fill the cavity of the pepper with creame cheese and then take a little chunk of pheasant meat (or any meat will work for that matter) and stuff it in the creame cheese and wrap it in bacon and stick it with a tooth pick to hold in place. Grill them until the bacon is done and you have a little morsel of greatness. I sometimes somke them if I have the time. Man o man are they good.

not trying to hijack here sluggo, but I too am planning on heading out for the first time this year. I am going to wing it and head out there for the opener on the 17th. My wife has her girls getaway that weekend so I though that me and the boys and dogs would head out to my brothers in Sioux City and hopefully his wife and daughter will watch my 2 youngest boys while me and him and his son go chase some birds. Any suggestions at all as to where to go in the SE corner of the state? I am sure there will be tons of hunters and I don’t want to step on any toes but yet I still want to get the dogs some action, and maybe get a few spots lined up for a hunt later in the year. I have already requested the hunting atlas’s from the link provided, any idea how long before it gets to NE Iowa? Also if anybody could point me to a reputable place to hunt for a fee, that would not be out of the question. Pretty simple, no guides, no dogs or no lodging needed, just a place to hunt–that would be reasonably priced.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

how do you get tickets for the rail? Can you but them at the rail stops? Is it safe to take small children on it at 10 or 11 PM on a sat. night after the game?

thanks everyone for the replys. very helpful. Now I need another question answered, what does the total package weigh? Boat, motor and trailer. It has a 60HP evinrude on it. The reason for all of the questions is that I am selling this boat and these are some of the questions that I have been asked about it. I thought that the weight would be on the registration or on the boat somewhere, but I sure can’t seem to find it.

Is this talked about in the link? I better quit being lazy and read the darn thing. If it is true that obama is trying to do this I had better get started on the plans to build a secret room. one of those revolving wall type things. The longer I type this the more po’d it makes me. WTF are they going to do to a person if they have any unregistered guns in the house? Take them from you? I have three that were my dads and I would bet the farm that they were never registerd. Did they even do this back in the day? One of his rifles he gave me was won in a card game from his brother.

how are they going to know if you have any ammo that needs to be destroyed? If it was mentioned in the provided website sorry for asking this question, cause I did not go to the website for the simple fact that I beleive that this will not go anywhere.

I have shot way more yotes just as the sun is breaking in the morning than in the evening. I really don’t know why that is but anytime ya knock one down is a good thing.

I think its because you can drink some beers for the rest of the day while skinning them out
j/k, I’m with ya on the morning kills though, don’t know what it is about them, but it sure makes the rest of the day a good one.

I use an ole’ yeller slate call, some mouth calls, for close up action, and never use decoys, used to use them but I always thought they looked goofy, plus I have never shot a Turkey while using decoys. Anyways good post and I too am looking foward to seeing others’ responses

    Good luck,
It was pretty discouraging being out this morning, they all got out way ahead, 4 of us got one, saw lots of them though, so thats a good sign. Definatly needed more blockers but what are ya gonna do? Didn’t have to work today so that was a plus.

If you don’t have the time all that you really need to do is just put it in abucket of water and change it out whenever the smell gets to bad. You have to take the hide off and scrape it of course, and it dosen’t take that long to do it this way. It works if you don’t have the time to dedicate a day to boiling and scraping and boiling a deer skull. If anyone is interested I can get the recipie that my taxidermist uses to bleech the skull white and post it on here. I always just take the deer to the taxidermest and he will give me a free euro mount if the cape is good. He will put it on a nice plack also. Just throwing that way out there for the busy do it yourselfers. It makes you kinda think everytime you take a drink of water knowing that what is in it will take off all= that junk.

this past winter my water heater gave out and leaked all over the carpet in the basement. We didn’t have any padding down and it was commercial carpeting. It also spread all across the vinyl floors. What I did was dry it out with alot of fans, 12 to be exact and also had 4 de-humidifiers going for 3 weeks non stop. I seriously thought about tearing it all out and just painting the floors but everyone that I talked to said it would be just fine. Do you guys think that there could be a mold problem? I now keep two fans going and one dehumidifier running all the time. Is that enough, I don’t want to jepordize my families health. It dosen’t smell musty or moldy, but who knows I might just be used to it. DO any of you know if ther is a test for mold, or should I just tear it up in the corner and see.
