Thanks for the report. I am itching to get out. Nice to hear about the perch in Volga Lake, I was not aware that they were in there.

Most of our trout streams are considered spring fed and they tend to stay open all winter. It is always fun to walk up to one of these streams and see the steam coming off of them when the air temp is in the 20’s.

Highlandville is a nice area, the Bears are usually great streams.

Fly-Fished out of a kayak a few times while floating a stretch of river. Most of the casting out of the kayak was to hit a few small pockets that looked good but did not warrant getting out. If a hole looked good enough you basically had to get out and put a better effort into fishing. The few times I did it though was a great I really enjoyed myself. I need to find the time to take a kayak fishing trip again.

All of the reports from pool 4 are making me jealous. I will have to make it up there someday. Thanks for the report.

That walleye was ridiculous. Thanks again for the great video. Also, thanks for making them available on-line a few of us do not have fox sports.

I agree with Chuckles. I have been building fly-rods and spinning rods for around ten years. It is very satisfying to catch fish with a rod that you have built. Plus with all of the components that are available you can create a rod to your specifications. The cost assessment is exactly as Chuckles has mentioned. I wish I could be there to meet a few other rod-builders, it would be a great opportunity to learn. Thanks for the heads up on the class. waytogo
