Last week before it got a little cold again, I Heard a few of the NW side shallower lakes like Seton, emerald, and Black lakes had some fish going.
    Good luck, Jack

    Thanks guys.
Tbro, that looks like the one I used to use. As melting and rains happen, they used to also project or forecast flows and stage.

    GW,
you can register on Garmin Express, and also use that for updates
    when they come available.
the 32g SD card is the standard SD cards you can get anywhere.
the 32 size, is the largest size that you can use.

Does your unit have the new G3 mapping, or G2.
You will need to have the SD card in the slot to be able to record the
Quick Draw. It does not record to it’s hard drive.
    Hope that helps.

The cradle system is a great idea.
In the second boat, you’d still have to
have the power cables connected to your cradle
    to power up unit in
second boat. That would be all you need for
the mapping with the built in GPS maps.
Sonar and imaging would need a transducer too.

    Gold
    What Fishwater said was accurate.
I added a 73SV Plus to put in the front of my boat.
I have put it all in a few weeks ago, but have not
had it on the water yet. (Yes, soon)
Tech support walked me throught the software update.
I got my unit on a big sale at Cabela’s. Tech support
said because mine has the G2 mapping. When you register
your unit, you can find out if you have G2 or the newest
G3 mapping. If you have G2, you have 12 months from
date of purchase to do a FREE download of the G3. I used
the home computer, download to an SD card, then card is
put in unit to upload. I was told that the SD card has to stay
in unit, for my 73SV to read the G3 maps. There is only one
card slot, so I may redownload the G3 maps onto a 32 size SD,
(that is largest usable), I only had a 16; so I have more room for quickdraw
mapping. Just select QuickDraw, and unit will start to draw
new actual under you contours. It puts them on an SD card in
slot. If you have the G3 mapping in your 93, you will just need to have
a blank card in the slot to store your QuickDraw mapping.
    hope that helps,
    Jack

Last week I added a new 73SV Plus to the front of
the boat, talked to Tech dept about helping me with
the software update, (he was very good and patient).
He also said my unit has the G2 mapping, but I have
12 months to do a New G3 map upgrade for free, which
    I’ll do this week.
Have not had unit on water yet, but anxious to get it
    out.

    Matt
Yesterday I was at the airport, and afterwards went through
    Ft Snelling park.
Where the boat ramp is, the road to that island is
blocked off with barriers and closed. Said due to high
water, but MN R. didn’t seem to high, but know it is
    going up quickly.

I was from pretty much right at the beginning. I’d drive down the hill at Everts, and Joe parked by himself would tell where he wanted to you park, even when no other vehicles were around. Few boats in the mid 1980s.
Met Steve and Amber Vick doing DNr surverys often on Pepin and Everts. Got to
know him pretty well. Dean Marshell took over and continued Steve’s management and tackle shop. Going through the no wake zome one day, James and I were going opposite directions, and did a slow turn back toward eachother and started talking. He mentioned he was starting a new fishing site, FTR.com to complement his Rochester based Pool 4 quide business. Couple of days later
I joined as member #88, and was reqular on the site. For a few years I was a
Field/ Writer Reporter, to help get more good info for newer members to use and be comfortable.

    Sticker,
Last week, Cabelas just finished a Fishing Classic sale promotion,
I did pick up the Echomap Plus 73SV, will mount it on my front
    trolling motor.
I’ve fished pretty seriously in my fishing club for over 23 years,
I’ve NEVER had a front mounted Graph. Thought I better add this unit.

It will also accept the Panoptics, which I think is the future.

The transducer that came with it is: CV52HW-TM. down image, side
    scan.
I will start to figure out getting it installed soon.

Last 15 plus years, hunted with a friend on private land
he grew up on. He built a great little 2 level cabin out
of an old metal round grain bin. Wood burning stove,
electricity, micro wave, frig, 3 beds. All you need. 100-
to 500 yard walk out to stands. Deer every where. Got my
year 2007 Very heavy mass, 12 pointer out of the “Dog House Stand.”
Local little family run restaurant early evening, then back
to cabin for some serious Cribbage, head to head……

Have fish and traveled too much in last 6 weeks, didn’t go this

With a friend and his son last July, went to Ghost River
resort on Marchington chain, NE of Sioux Lookout about 25 miles.
You meet resort at a public
ramp, and they take you on a 24 foot resort boat, thru
two lakes, and 100 yard portage by tractor and trailer for
your gear, to their resort, 1 main, and second smaller secondary
resort. Use their 14-16 alum boats and motors. Nice cabins.
Real remote experience. 14 connected lakes, lots of waterfalls.
They are only resort on whole chain. Some lakes they encourage
catch and release, others regular limit possession. They encourage
the conservation license by paying it for you.

I agree with Dave, have the dealer get it fixed right.
Drain tubes are not supposed to fall off, creating a
    REAL problem. (read Safety issue).

Thanks for the 2 quick replies,
Jon, it sounds like I need to pull the carb
off to get the bowl off to get to the jets.
    Does that sound right.
    thanks again.

You should have no problem finding fish
on the NW and north side shoreline rocks,
    and just off shore reefs.
    Good Luck

Going back to the original post,
The DNR have said for at least 10 years that the Walleye/ Sauger population is so good, with multiple year classes, that any effort for special regs or slot is just not necessary.

Of course, we can all do our part, stay out of the scour hole and only take home a few to enjoy.

But that is what the DNR says.
