    HAppy New Year JT!

Hey same to you Rob. I actually saw a picture of you the other day in some Ice Fishing article I stumbled across written by Galusha.

Thanks guys for the input. I think I am going to hold off on getting a Ice hut until next year or maybe in the off season when they are cheaper.

    Thanks guys.

It sounds like I just need to shop around a bit. I looked at a few at BPS and Cabela’s and they were in the $800-$1,000 range and that was way more than I can justify for as little as it will get used.

I read something today that said they put a Titanium rod in his leg and he already wants to know when he can train again.

Hey J! Isn’t that why bassboats have TWO live wells?

I took my father in-law fishing and when we got back we convinced my wife that I actually used one of my livewells as a toilet. lol She was grossed out that I would even do that, but she was really mad that I would do that in front of her dad.

We waited a long time before we told her that we just made the story up to get her going.

I have watched some of the games during this year’s Olympics, what I have seen does not even resemble a

game filled with NHL players. It looks as if these

guys are not a team. The chemistry is just not there.

Some of the other teams that do not have as much “NHL

Talent” have played together for years and they are much

better “Teams”. I would give anything to play in a game with

guys like Mike Modano, Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux, Mats Sundin, Sydney Crosby, etc as long as there wasn’t money (or gold medals) on the line. In situations like that I would rather play on a team of players that have been together for a long time and know how each other plays and what their teammates are thinking when they are on the ice.

I have a Rottweiler that thinks he is 1/2 Hoover Vacuum
sweeper. That sucker will eat anything he can fit in his
mouth. A lot of the time we catch him and make him drop it, but Lord only knows what he eats when we aren’t looking.

    I have a Z71 with the 5.3L and I pull a Triton TR20 (20′). It does just fine, but I don’t get close to 20 mpg.

    Dan,

Andalusia is about 5 minutes outside of Rock Island (Quad Cities). In reference to your request for an ABA district in La Crosse, there is a guy on this forum named Ken Warren, he would be the guy to talk to. I know he is starting another district up north somewhere but I am not sure where.

    JT Bagwell

PS: Knock-Off Senkos are not as good as the original. If they were, everyone would be talking about them instead.

You all took the Senko joke a lot better than some people.

Yeah that’s what Jay Kumar told me the night
before the article hit the internet.

I have to call Yamamoto today, they want me to put a
bigger, more obvious “THIS IS A JOKE” near the title for the thousands of people that called yesterday in a panic.

LOL At least most people thought it was a funny joke (myself included).

    Take Care everyone,

    JJ,

I am with you as far as using Hot Sauce. It seems to be a decent lubricant.

Here is something that got me thinking though. Someone mentioned their lubricant gave them faster spool rotation. I understand how this is possible when the reel is set on “Free Spool,” but most anglers use the brakes and the fine adjustment knob. Both of these add some form of resistance to the spool.

The spools on my Pflueger President reels will spin forever when they are on “Free Spool,” but as soon as I put on the brakes and the fine adjustment they don’t spin nearly as long.

    Just an observation.

In addition to those mentioned, you also have LaSalle, Braidwood and Heidecke.

I would be interested in hearing what Dave “allegedly” did. If someone wants to send it to me via PM.

I have known Dave for a few years and I have never heard anyone even say so much as a bad thing about him. Except when Koby Kreiger protested him in an EverStart tourney a few years back.

Heck he called my cell phone one day when I was getting ready to launch the boat and there was a guy standing there that I knew happened to be a fan of Dave, so I gave the guy my cell phone and Dave talked to him for about 5 minutes. Good thing it was the weekend (free minutes) or I would have had to cut the dude off. lol

    Thanks

lol The first one was awesome.

I have a some other statistics I would like to know though.

lol How many gun deaths occur each year on purpose? and how many doctors kill people on purpose?

BassBaron, I am sure this doesn’t pertain to you. LOL

I see that the RCL Tour is no longer. It is now called the FLW Walleye Tour. This doesn’t surprise me at all since Genmar sold their Crestliner and Lund product lines.

ABA has a most of their schedules posted right now if you are interested in individual tournaments.

    American Bass Anglers

Just click on the Tournaments box at the top of the page and then go down to 2005 schedules. Then all you do is click on the state you wish to view.

    JJ,

Talk to Ken Warren about the mapping software. He showed me his stuff from Navionics (I think that’s the company) and they were pretty nice. He showed me the maps for pool 13 and I was very impressed.

Give him an email and he can fill you in on the details.

Hopefully they give the guy his money like they did John Murray after they screwed him.

For such a huge organization, they sure seem to have a lot of trouble. I was thinking about getting back into fishing the BFL tournies but I am sure my Triton would get me DQ’d if I won since it’s not under 20′ long.

This is just “my opinion” so hopefully I don’t get jumped on by the 518 owners. lol I personally don’t like the way a 518 rides. A couple of years ago I fished out of one at Shelbyville and I honest to god thought I broke my ribs. It was the roughest ride I have ever had in “little” water. Now 520’s are a whole different story. Those boats are very nice.

If I recall correctly (which I might not be) I think the 518’s are actually 19′ but 1′ of that is the transom setback that acts like a jackplate.

My choice between an older 520 and a newer 518 would be easy. 520 without a doubt. Of course my overall choice would be the Triton TR21X but that wasn’t part of the question. lol

Go to American Bass Anglers website they have a program where college students can earn scholarships for bass fishing.

Click on the CAST button at the top of the page (its towards the center of the row).

LOL Buckshot, I know EXACTLY what you mean.

Last week on Pool 13 the wind kept blowing the water my boat was pushing, right back into my face. I looked like I had just got out of the shower before I even made it to the main channel.

I have a single console Triton TR20 and I really love it. Originally I wanted to get the 2nd console installed ($700) for the wife. Then I decided against it because the only time she even half way thinks about going on the river is when it’s hot and sunny.

Personally I kind of like the single console. It has a lot more room which comes in handy during tournaments. There is more space for my co-anglers to put their tackle bags and things of that nature (I also leave an empty compartment on the back deck for them). The single is also nice when swinging fish into the boat. I don’t have to worry about hitting the passenger side console.

Although I really like only having the single, if I get a new TR21X in the Spring it will likely be a dual console. I like to make long runs and my Co-anglers take more of a pounding without the windshield. I also like the idea of having a glove box for my keys, phone and my handheld GPS (spare). Plus I think my wife would like going more if she didn’t take the full force of the wind at 70+ mph (even though I tell her we are only going 45 lol).
