Well, I’m not sure if it was a fluke or not, but my brother hooked into a 9 pounder in Becker Lake. Shortly after, he snagged an even bigger one but made short work of his light line. We were bluegill fishing on the left side of Becker in the deeper part. A couple of bluegill had swallowed the hook so we threw them into shore. About 10 minutes later, we heard a huge splash, looked in that direction, and a large cat tail came up out of the water, took him three times to pull the first gill under. It happened four more times afterward also. When my brother filleted his cat, he opened up his belly and sure enough, there was that small bluegill in his stomach.

Nah, I don’t put any watermarks on my pics. I just shrink them down to small sizes that way if someone actually DID want to steal my pictures for some stupid reason, they couldn’t do much with them anyway.

You can take long exposures with some higher end point and shoots, but I’m not sure what type. Even then, the sensor is a lower quality than a dSLR. You will more than likely see grain/noise in those pictures.

These were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel XT (350D) dSLR. I am in love with the night photography/slow shutter speed shots. They are starting to turn out great. There is a huge learning curve, but with patience it can be figured out. Let me know what you end up getting! Ask me anything and I’ll try and help you along.

Any updates on this yet? I think this would be a great idea!

EDIT: Just did a pretty extensive search but came up empty handed.

Thanks for the tip! I’ll remember that.

We usually hit Koronis Bay for our crappie (I have a few “secret” spots) and Cedar for cats. Three days including today and counting!

Haha, nah, not really. They are just regular mesh shorts, but why I bought a GOLD pair is beside me. Impulse buy, maybe??

    Ok! I have to ask!

What’s with the shorts in the last picture?!

HAHA! Yeah, I just throw them on for fishing. I can’t BELIEVE I bought them in the first place. You aren’t the only one to say that! Don’t worry, they aren’t coming with me this year

Ok, just a couple more. I figured I’d put some actual fish pics up. Check out the dogfish! That was my very first fish of last year. It hit a TOPWATER! I thought it was just a bigger bass, until it got closer to the boat. I have NEVER caught a dogfish on anything else but a worm until last year!

check that crappie spot only a bit deeper and farther up the bend.

That is a very good crappie hole. I will have to do that!

I will definitely put more pics up this year. I got my dSLR camera this Feb., so hopefully I can get some amazing sunset pics. Thanks to everyone again!

Thanks for the welcome! I have joined many sites, but they all seem to lack the information that I ask for and need.

In my very short time here, I have read MANY helpful hints and tips! Once again, very glad to be here!

I have had luck in the VERY back of Horseshoe Lake. There is a huge boulder that has the words “Suzy’s Rock” spray painted on it. It is near the entrance to Long Lake, before the no wake zone. I have pulled many smallies out with a bobber and a leech. Hope that helps!

Yes, Becker Lake is by FAR my favorite for bass. We usually hit the entrance along the shoreline with a ScumFrog and nail them. The dropoff is also another great spot. I have also had luck in Kron’s Bay, back right corner. I have caught a couple of 3-1/2 – 4 pounders there. I have attached a pic of a few bass caught last summer in Becker. They were released right after the pic was taken.
