We drove wheelers out but there was a few trucks out there on wuabay and Lynn. Lynn had 10-14 inchs. Waubay had 10-16″ spotty with a pressure ridge by Grenville that a wheeler and truck went through last week. Enemy swim had 8-12 inchs. Use caution is what everyone had told us so we used wheelers to err of side of caution.
December 28, 2014 at 8:24 am #1488842Here is a report for how our trip went for those of you who might be going out. Lynn lake: we fished from 12-5 pm we fished straight out from road access in four different areas known to produce big eyes. We didn’t catch anything to keep. A few nice eye we’re take on Friday by others (28-30″). Only heard of a few getting perch limits on lynn also. Enemy: was another tight lip bite Friday. We caught a bunch of small well tiny perch fishing from 7am-12pm. We fished I south west bays. Friday afternoon we fished waubay was slow till dusk. There was about 20 minute window at sundown were we had fast action walleyes and crappies hit dead sticks as fast as we could get the lines back down in 21fow. They were 12-18″ eyes and crappies 10-13″. Sat morning on waubay we fished 18″ per other advise we drilled a to. Of hole with little to no luck. Talked to many with reports that bit was down but seamed to be starting to pick up. I’m not sure what to think about that since it was our first time there.
We may try another trip out there February/March but this trip was a bust if it was not for the family time.December 21, 2014 at 10:28 am #1486605Thank you guys for the information and tips. I’m going to need all the help since I’m bringing the wife and my little fishing buddy. I’m sure we’ll have a good time as long as the weather doesn’t turn on us and the perch and crappys are still active. Thanks again and marry Christmas to you and your families
December 19, 2014 at 8:39 am #1486055Thanks Jessered. WE’ll have to try and hit Bitter. A few others have mentioned it to us also. Should be interesting since we usually fish the river (pool 4) and its our first trip out there pretty sure the laser mag will get a work out.
November 26, 2014 at 11:32 am #1477218I would believe that those wisconsin numbers are not actual because many trappers have taken the see no evil hear no evil method and just dispose of the animals with out reporting because of the public out cry to eliminate trapping in general. I have personally seen the results of being honest and up front letting dog owner know of their lab being caught on public property running unattended. My trapping partner and myself had all out furs taken as evidence and when we were found not at fault and asked for our hides back we were told the Dnr sold them and did not have to replace or compensate. Lessons learned no see no tell.
November 12, 2014 at 9:57 pm #1472761Stink, going to court will get you no where. As long as the trapper set his trap according to the laws and reg’s. In fact you could be held accountable if you touch the trap even with your dog in it. The law state it is illegal to tamper or molst a legally set trap.I trap and hunt dogs so I feel both side of the fight. If your going to out law conibear traps you better out law all traps because I personally set a lot of drowning sets and if a dog would enter a trap it will be under water in seconds. This cycle is going to cause all sportsmen to loses of their past times.

December 1, 2013 at 5:07 pm #1367896Well the boy picked out a vs385. He made me very proud by going through the price-vs- Money on hand and picked the one he could afford. we got it home opened it up and there was a crack in the housing around the lens area so it will be going back to the store next friday and we will be shopping for one at the st paul ice show.

November 30, 2013 at 8:13 pm #1367713Yes the micro does look handy but I’m worried about it falling down the hole. I know I would have a hard time if I bought it let alone an 8 yr old that worked all summer to buy one. Thinking it needs to be full size unit. He all ready has fl 20 he bought last year. Think I might help him get a vexlar double vision unit. Thanks for input the more info the better.
March 29, 2013 at 6:59 pm #1157403Yeah…I know what you mean… At 8:30 this morning I tried to get to Everts and the trucks and trailers were backed up almost to Hager City waiting to get down the hill. So my boat is in the shed now. I may still have to drive down and get some bacon wrapped treats though.
March 3, 2013 at 6:05 pm #1147866Had a great time out trying to catch some keepers. Everts had every thing planned out great and everything went smoothly. Looking forward to the next fyb.

February 12, 2012 at 11:31 pm #1038211I would have to say if they were not in a black chevy extended cab or a silver dodge extended cab pick ups then they were not WI CO.
February 12, 2012 at 6:48 pm #1038155Thanks for all the input. I was leaning to HB but I found info there transducers keep breaking the mounts and realy dont like having to glass in another transducer for high speed readings. Looks like we’ll have to flip a quarter.
January 29, 2012 at 2:30 pm #1033084Correct access is closed to cars and trucks. I went out from minnesota side on friday and had 10 inchs out to the channel. we could see where people had taken snowmobiles across the lake.

So it’s OK for the DNR and some cops to shoot fawns in somebody’s backyard but it’s not OK for a citizen to knock off a mountain lion? I guess those are the rules.
Or, for instance, shoots an alligator found swimming the river, like was down around here recently. Maybe the officers should be held accountable too.
IMO
Yea Lenny we both know how the good old DNR works.
