Its happened twice to me, it is never easy. If they offer you a placement service definitely take advantage of it as they will help spif up your resume. Career Builder and Monster are good places to post a resume. Good Luck to you.

I received mine in the mail on Monday, and took yesterday off to go fishing before the cold front hit. The firetiger perch one I used is in need of having the hook replaced as perch, pike and walleye were smashing it.

The 3 teams they have beat have 3 wins total, I wouldnt get too excited yet. What happens when Brett hangs it up?
As much as dont care for the Packers, it was fun to see them squash Denny Green.

I have never figured out how a person can be loyal to one party or the other. To me they are all pond scum, but a part of our life none the less. November 7th cant come fast enough for me. Now a little humor…………….

A man was washed up on a beach after a terrible shipwreck. Only a sheep and a sheepdog were washed up with him. After looking around, he realized that they were stranded on a deserted island.

After being there a while, he got into the habit of taking his two animal companions to the beach every evening to watch the sun set.

One particular evening, the sky was a fiery red with beautiful cirrus clouds, the breeze was warm and gentle – a perfect night for romance.

As they sat there, the sheep started looking better and better to the lonely man. Soon, he leaned over to the sheep and put his arm around it.

But the sheepdog, ever protective of the sheep, growled fiercely until the man took his arm from around the sheep.

After that, the thr ee of them continued to enjoy the sunsets together, but there was no more cuddling..

A few weeks passed by and, lo and behold, there was another shipwreck.

The only survivor was Hillary Clinton.

That evening, the man introduced Hillary to the evening beach ritual. It was another beautiful evening – red sky, cirrus clouds, a warm and gentle breeze – perfect for a night of romance. Pretty soon, the man started to get “those feelings” again..

He fought the urges as long as he could, but he finally gave in and leaned over to Hillary, cautiously and whispered in her ear…

“Would you mind taking the dog for a walk?”

I had the problem on a 97 Bonneville, I would keep a broomball stick in the trunk and just tap the blower motor, mine was on the firewall, I eventually replaced it, not too hard if you are mechanical at all.

My radio is older and I can only monitor one channel at a time. If you are on the north end Fishers uses channel 10 and I sometimes get useful info from the launches.

I was on Beebe between St Michael and Buffalo on Saturday, there was 11-12 inches of ice and almost no snow.

I was there last Friday lots of slush on top of 6-8 inches of ice wheelers and snowmobiles all over. I found a high spot with no slush on a break from 22′ up to 18′ and picked up some 6-7 inch perch in 18′ and 1 chunky 14 inch walleye. There were 10-15 permanent houses out on the rock pile in the middle. I did get my license checked by a Park Ranger on a sled.

Was up last weekend, went out of Long Point. Ice was in good shape Friday and Saturday, still driving out the snow is almost gone and there arent any pressure ridges to deal with. Sunday when it stayed so warm overnight and several vehichles got stuck in ruts the day before they were recommending ATV’s. Didnt need an extension this year but the shavings that come out of the hole are very wet and heavy. Fishing was good in 27-30 feet of water, lots of walleyes with a couple over 4 pounds. We caught one with an 11 inch Lamprey hanging on it, what an ugly strange thing they are. Jigging and still poles were about 50/50. Had a Bald Eagle come and grab a Tullibee I had put about 30 yards away for the seagulls. Add in some nice Sauger, a line stretching Pout here and there and something we figured might be a Redhorse and it was an awesome 3 days. This a crazy fishery it was calm and sunny on Friday, overcast and 20-30 mph east winds on Saturday, thick fog Sunday morning clearing with the wind changing directions 3 times and yet we still caught fish. Time to put away the auger and shine up the boat.

Was up yesterday and spent a few hours on Agate Bay Reef, no walleyes but 5 Perch from 10-12 inches. Got blown off at about 12:30. 3-4 footers in 37 degree water is no fun. Had just enough to stink up a frying pan, they were terrific. Hard water cant be too far off.

I was out last Saturday throwing cranks on the weed edge for Bass and had a small Muskie, 6-7 pounds up to the boat, he came off when the treble hook got tangled in the net. I was trolling in the same area later and had something much larger on for a minute or so and it came unhooked too.

I wonder what said fish will eat in this caged environment, I doubt a school of baitfish will hang out near a cage full of walleyes???? If its only for a day or two it wont matter. And what happens when someone drives their boat into a cage?

It looks like its 2 ounces lighter, which could be the difference in the single paddle handle vs the double paddle one. Its $5.00 cheaper. I found that the $12 Shakespeare line counter that attaches to the rod works well and can be moved easily to other rods.
Whats with the Shimano Stella priced from $489 to $699?? That is way out of my budget, its a reel for crying out loud!!!

I walked out of AGATE BAY RESORT on Friday, there were others on snowmobile and 4-wheelers, that went out farther on the reef than I did. Had 6 inches of good ice the surface is busted up here and there, but the cracks were very small. It was noisy as the ice was expanding. I fished the top of reef in 10′ out to 17′. Picked up 2 walleyes jigging, the tip up was dormant. The highlight of my day came on a jigging Rap and took 5-6 minutes to get her up to the ice, she made 10 strong runs of several yards each time. She ended up being a Musky and was right under my knees at the hole when my 8lb test lost the battle. Her head filled a 7 inch hole and its eyes were nearly 6 inches apart. After the line broke she sat there for 5-10 seconds before slowly swimming away like a submarine. My largest Northern is 40 inches and this girl put up 5 times the battle. It was great to out on the ice again!!

Thanks again Jon for a fun time, the drive home was long but I took it slow. The nice thing about snow is it that it keeps your beverage nicely chilled. I am glad the picture turned out, she was a beaut…………….later

Glad to see I wasnt the only one having a hard time, I was up on Friday and worked Agate Bay reef hard. I cranked up a Perch and rigged another one before finally getting a walleye on a slip sinker rig, the amazing thing was it was a slot fish. It tasted wonderful. I marked fish from 27′ all the way to the reef and they would not take a leech or a fathead. I hope its because they are full, even though the one I ate only had my leech in its gut. I will try again in a week or so.

In the fine print they say they will publish a list of multiple caught fish, this fall on their website and in Outdoor News.

Its OK by me. I dont think the DNR has accurate data on how many fish are in the lake, or how many we can safely harvest, but they are trying to do whats good for the fishery. Time will tell. I was up last Saturday and caught 18 walleyes, 7 under and 11 over the slot. I love a meal of fresh fish, but if you are a meat hunter, this is not the place to fish. If you love to catch fish, you cant beat it right now

The tagged fish I caught was a 15 incher, so needless to say it was consumed. Also had an F followed by 5 numbers. Caught it out in front of Fishers. If the cards are scarce, the email address is [email protected], and I called and spoke with Harriet @ 218-927-3751. When I get any info back I will post it.

Found some jumbo leeches at Portside on Friday, fished primarily in front of Fishers. Four of us were able to boat 43 nice fish with 11 in the slot, including 1 tagged 15 incher. The biggest was a shade over 26″. They were between 14′ and 17′ deep, and never tried anything but leeches. After a cold wet day they tasted fabulous Saturday evening. It was my 9 year old nephews first opener and he caught most of the slots. There was a lot of griping about the slot being too small, I told them if your fishing for meat go somewhere else. This is a wonderful fishery right now, shut up and fish.
