I’ve been out to Big Carnelian a few times this year. Didn’t really target pannies, but I had my camera down every time and i didnt see a whole lot for panfish. Figured i would at least see a couple schools move through, but I maybe saw three crappies total, and none of them passed were even close to keeper size.

Well, had a great time at the Rock over labor day! Didn’t put too much effort towards bow-fishing, mostly cause I didn’t see the carp in the places I have seen them in the past years. The alge bloom (or whatever all that green stuff is) didn’t help the cause either.

We did get out fishing though. As usual, the white bass action was off the charts. Also caught a small wally, and a nice crappie.

Fun lake you guys have out there!

    Nice Fish!

Did you happen to find a natural colored SR8 in his mouth? I was out last weekend and hooked into one while trolling for walleyes. Broke me off during its aerial performance

Well, it’s a day late, but for what it’s worth here it is. I was out last weekend, and caught a decent amount of wallys trolling cranks in about 25-30 FOW. I just kept zig-zaging over the breaks. I was using a 2 oz snap weight to get the bait down there. Otherwise, I’ve heard lindy rigs are still working in shallower water.

Did you end up getting out?

I think all the ones I know of have been mentioned. Hudson launch is $10 for MN residents now. I would say that the bluffs is definitely the best value if you plan on going out a few times, only problem is they don’t open until 6 AM. I can’t believe how expensive it is just to launch your boat these days. Including the park sticker, I’ve probly spent about $60 already this year

Hey everyone, IDO newby here. Get out on the Croix pretty frequently, most of the time in my Dad’s Crestliner Phantom.

First off, Steve D! Those are some monster cats you have pics of on this forum!

Second, I have a question for you catfishing guys. Have you ever been stuck/stung by a catfish? My buddy got tagged pretty good by a small channel cat yesterday. The barb got lodged in his foot a good half inch! His foot swelled up, but otherwise he seems to be fine. Anything serious that can happen from that type of thing?
