I think we are about a week off…. the fish are just starting to come in shallow. I’ll Know more tomorow.
DaveApril 15, 2003 at 1:58 pm #264188Nice boat there huh, Eric?
Does it scoot right along with you in it alone, or not! Fun little rig to fish the river and small lakes. It was very good on gas and starts ever time… first time.
Good luck with the boat. Call if you have any questions on any thing.
You got room for one more sticker on there? I bet….
I’ll send you a “Catch-N” Tackle Co. one if so.
Dave HogardApril 12, 2003 at 1:47 pm #263925The Guide…
I gotta tell you about this paticular Bass here…
She busted a 1/32 oz. jig head dressed with a 1″ Mr. Twister white grub that was coated with Kick’n Bass GARLIC scent. I oten use these plastics to locate schools of active Crappie. Anyway on with the story…
First fish of the day… and about the fourth cast… I was using a Jig-A-Whopper ultra- ultra-light rod that has the fastest tip I have ever seen… very very small diameter and plum “winpie” tip… but a blast on panfish. The four pound test and rod made this fish a real battle… and she took… f o r e v e r … to come to the boat. One of them heart pumping, gotta sit down and recover… type fish… man, what a blessing to have a day start like that.
Netted her, rested her in the livewell, took some quick shots… and back she in the drink she went. Check the head on this fish… she could eat a pop can sideways! Nearly a two-fister!
Cool thing was, I saw one taken later that day that was just as big! A fellow in an Alumacraft right next to me stuck a big one… way cool.
I also took a couple of Pike on the plastics before I went to the bobbers, having found the school. The school by the way, was not in shallows… rather, it was out in the open bay and in about three feet of water… 40 yards from the shore. They were too negitave to chase the plastics much, but… were suckers for a bobber & minnow.
Hope that you get to go soon too… this will last a couple of days to a week or so.. or till we get a real cold snap… then it will start up again with warmer weather and sun till spawn time ends.
Fun

Catch-N Tackle Co.April 8, 2003 at 2:05 pm #263547Mike… you so funny !
Guys, please bear with Mike as he has a huge job in re-structuring B-Fish-N Tackle Inc. and a huge inventory to package. I have made him quite busy .
Mike, I know you must be busy with all your new duities in shipping BFT products and such. But, you are tough as nails… I know you can handle it! Anyone who can eat a live Sheephead head first… can pretty much do anything !
Thanks for buying B-Fish-N Tackle from me and I wish the very best of luck to you and your efforts.
I know as soon as you get all organized that BFT Inc. will run very smoothly… by the way, did the other simi full of plastics arrive there yet ?
FYI… it is 9:10am and I am still in my pajamas !!
Love ya man!
Call ahead when you see some “daylight” and lets hit Tetonka…

Catch-N Tackle Co.April 7, 2003 at 1:11 pm #263414Thanks Greg, Steve, Jon… and all who helped out at the event!
Great work.
DaveApril 7, 2003 at 1:08 pm #263413Ok this is working… now to get my boat out and get that working! Wonder if I remember how to get to Tetonka…
DaveMarch 27, 2003 at 7:22 pm #255637I am working on that with James… not sure when yet. I’ll try and keep you posted.
Dave HoggardMarch 27, 2003 at 7:20 pm #255636Rigging is the done the normal way… once on the hook, just use your finger tip to gently push down on the plastic above the wire keeper. This sets the wire keeper firmly into the plastic body.
When removing the plastic, use your fingertips to pinch up the area above the keeper… so that as you pull the plastic off the wire keeper will not tear your plastic body. This way you may use the Doo, Ringworm or K-Grub over and over without damaging the plastic. This process is easy and will become a habit quick in changing out colors.
Having the weight stamped on the H2O Precision Jig’s head is handy to know what weight you are throwing and will be an aid in grabbing a heavier or lighter jig to use.
Dave HoggardMarch 26, 2003 at 8:31 pm #255555Yep, the “combo” packs are available. This is a good way to get the jigs in the sizes you want to try out.
You can get two of each of these weights, in one color…
3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 in the “small combo” bag
or
two of each of these weights in one color…
5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8 in the “large combo” bag
That is eight of the H2O Precision Jigs for $6.00… the small combo for shallow and the large combo for deeper water use.
Bill, just let me know what you’ll need.

B-Fish-N TackleMarch 24, 2003 at 2:13 pm #255302Steve O,
Excuse this “self serving” information… but so many of you have stated you want these jigs here on the EFN forums… that I am compelled to post this timely information.
It is available to you right now… by mail order through B-Fish-N Tackle. They are not in the EFN Outlet Store yet.
I hope to have these in retail locationas such as Everts, very soon. I will be talking to other shops about carring it as well, such as Gander Mountain and Scheels Sports.
I figure most the retail locations that now carry the B-Fish-N Tackle plastics will likely stock this jig in the near future … “BFT” plastics are now available at:
Everts Resort – Hager City
4 Seasons Sports – Redwing
Hooked on Fishing – Rochester
Faribault Bait & Tackle – Faribault
Joes Sporting Goods, Mpls (very soon to arrive)
Gander Mountain (11 stores)
Scheels Sports – College Square Store, Cedar Falls, IA
Cost for package of 10 (all one size and same color) is $4.99
They are in the following colors:
Pearl / Pink
Pear / Purple
Pearl / Blue
Pearl / Chartreuse
Chartreuse / Flourscent Red
Glow / Green
Pearl
Black
They are in the following sizes:
3/32, 1/8, 3/16, 1/4, 5/16, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8
Shipping (Mn residents pay .065% tax)The H2O Precision Jig is a very high quality “wire keeper” style plastics jig. It is made with a durable paint job and a Mustad’s finest Ultra Point hook.
I think many will consider this to be the finest river jig made for plactics.

March 22, 2003 at 4:03 pm #255198I have been invited to attend the Rochester chapter of Walleye Searchers Monday night meeting and to bring B-Fish-N Tackle products to display and sell.
I am going to use the event to premier the H2O Precision Jig. My plan is to knock about 20% off the suggested retail cost for the Holst & Tuckner seminar event.
Thanks guys for the invite, I am looking forward to hearing Chris and James speak and getting to visit some.
Dave HoggardMarch 22, 2003 at 1:41 am #255173Ecnook… your H2O Precision Jigs are in!
I picked them up today from the painter . They look good… real good.
I am going to package yours up tonight, a mixed bag of sizes/colors.
I have been invited to attend the Rochester Walleye Searchers Monday night meeting and bring B-Fish-N Tackle products. I am going to break this H2O Precision Jig there. My plan is to knock about 20% off the retail cost for the Holst & Tuckner seminar event. You planning on attending?
Dave HoggardMarch 22, 2003 at 1:01 am #255172I’ll check on the retail list… BRB.
West Side Marine in Redwing is a new Patriot dealer.
Dave HoggardMarch 20, 2003 at 2:51 pm #255076Need to esplain, huh?
I am thinking of replacing my 1996 Alumacraft “puddle jumper” Lunker V 14 … for more room.
I was a die hard Alumacraft man for many years before starting with EFN. I have had three boats from them under promotional “programs”. I have been very happy with Alumacraft boats. I love my Lunker!
Upon starting this job with EFN, I set a program with Crestliner, as it was benifical to our staff and management. Though “sponsored” by Crestliner, I did not aquire a Crestliner boat last year on a program, as the program selection was limited. I do not have a Crestliner selection option this year again.
I have been very proud to “promote” for both companies, both companies being exceptional boat builders and both having very fine aluminum boats. I have worked sucessfully, to have several of our EFN staff consider Alumacraft boats as well as new Crestliners.
I do very much like the Canadan 18 foot boat from Crestliner. This is a super rig and would well fit my needs for all lakes & rivers… but, I have not been sucessful in gaining a promotional program on that boat.
I am now looking into a GLASS boat that I may aquire under a promotional program.
Richard Smith has been thinking on getting a Patriot and has been “in my ear” about it often for over the last year. After seeing them at the Expo show, I see why. Patriot is a very nice looking boat, it has a fast salt-water hull design, it has a clean and simple lay-out.
I am interested in seeing if anyone here has run a Patriot to gain feed back in making my next move. This may be a move into GLASS.
Dave HoggardMarch 16, 2003 at 3:43 pm #254676I recently stopped by 4 Seasons Sports in Red Wing, MN to see if they needed any “plastics” while on my sales route… When walking past the corner, right by the front door I was very shocked to see where some “fisher-person” had emptied out his frozen minnow bucket “chunck of ice full of dead minnows” by the edge of the building… just 10 feet from the front door.
What is that about ? Gotta be plain nuts and a very disrespectfull kind of person to do such crap as that.
Guess it takes all kinds… perhaps we as a group can help to educate some folks here on EFN.
The mamagement of 4 Seasons was quick to clean up after this “slob”… and take away the mess. They were as perplexed as I was about why someone would think this is proper sportsman’s conduct.
Dave HoggardMarch 14, 2003 at 2:02 am #254525I have my little ringworm making elfs pouring as fast as their little hands can pour rubber ! Hold on… the worms will be here soon!
Dave HoggardMarch 10, 2003 at 10:09 pm #254173I too am now hooked on plastics… This year I plan to use K-Grubs even more… like over the weeds on Tetonka at night. Can not wait!!!! Have you seen the ” gold one”
2 cool
Dave “Hoggie” HoggardMarch 10, 2003 at 10:02 pm #254172A $15.00 entry fee per person… with a $10.00 side donation to ARM. I like that . Sounds real good to me.
Bald Eagle Tournament… GREAT .
Dave HoggardMarch 10, 2003 at 9:41 pm #254169Thank you guys for stopping into the Gander Mountain booth at the show.
It was great to have Gander host B-Fish-N Tackle.
Fun working with James, DeeZee, and seeing and meeting all the guys.
Gander has plenty of the Ringworm, Super Doo, and K-Grub Kits in left for their 11 regional stores… and also the Weedless Super Doo Jigs.
I did some walking round… I was impressed with the Lorance Booth…They have some real great looking units there. I like the color graphs.
Rich Balanger / St Croix let me hand pick some rods… I want the AS59MXF, AS56MF, and AS60LF. I think I am about ready to go that route (and just donate all my old rods to ARM).
Huppert’s Fintech (Knuckle Ball / Zone R) booth / Maynards Tackle booth had tons of great looking jigs and cool kits…I had fun there
Overall, a good show. I have had some headaches since… from the eye strain from watching those gals in the cowboy hats Ambush Lures I think it was they were selling…
