Trade it in for a Johnson/Evinrude after you clean your carbs, yes..
December 30, 2008 at 2:24 am #732561I have the 08 and 07 MN Lakemaster Chip.. it is 3 or 5 foot increments i think and doesn’t show any cribs.. not sure what the WI maps would show.. it does help to find some new areas and is good for just general info not specific enuff for me tho..
November 6, 2008 at 12:18 am #721041The Wolf’s Den on the north end of Prarie lake has cabins for rent.. I may have one available for rent as well.. i will pm you if it becomes available for rent!
October 30, 2008 at 5:47 pm #720118you lucky SOB!! wish i was heading up there too.. 2 weeks ago had best activity near the lake.. but w/ temps, etc. you should be able to find them almost anywhere in the river.. good luck and let us know how you do
October 28, 2008 at 12:13 am #719621could be one of your cables or the T connector in your line.. that has been known to happen.. they may be less than having to replace your puck.. hook yours up to someone elses and trouble shoot that way if possible..
October 2, 2008 at 3:05 am #715116Being a Beverage professional RD I have to say that you can enjoy the flavor of coffee in the new Bailey’s Coffee Liqueur… that way you can get the taste you are looking for and nevermind the time you have to waste while the coffee is brewing… 3 to 4 ice cubes and you’re set.. it would leave you more time to finish the rest of the book you just started!
April 8, 2008 at 7:20 pm #672806I’m not blaming the high gas price on ethanol at all… but you can’t honestly say that e85 production hasn’t raised the price of feed thus creating an increased cost to the consumer… The point I was getting at is that that is not the solution to our fuel problems.. and I think efforts need to be focused elsewhere, or like another poster said, make fuel out of other sources than food!!
April 7, 2008 at 2:05 pm #672122Great wall mount fish.. Hope I can get one lake that some day to put on my wall! That’s the only way to do it in my opinion!
April 7, 2008 at 1:57 pm #672117The problem isn’t a lack of oil wells, etc.. The problem is the lack of refineries and our govt. being pushed around by “Green” groups who won’t let any companies build any more. There hasn’t been a new refinery built since the mid-70’s.. don’t you think the demand has increased astronomically since then.. there in lies your gas price going up… Oh yeah, and don’t forget your state govt. decided to add an extra gas tax last session!
We have to decide this fall on who we want to make our decisions for us.. ask the people running for office if they are going to do something about it or not.. I have felt the increase in gas prices dramatically… I drive many miles a year for my job and therefore fill up quite frequently.. and I’m amaized at how gas fluctuates not only daily, but hourly!
I was up in L.Falls last thursday, and at 8 am the holiday was at 3.09.. and 45 min later it was at 3.29.. I’m sure it will be 3.15 or so on tuesday morning and back up to 3.33 on thursday!http://www.minnesotagasprices.com check this site out if you haven’t yet.. I came across it about a year ago. Very helpful on the fishing trips and other outings.. ever kick yourself for not getting or getting gas at a station and in the next town its cheaper or more expensive.. well not anymore!
I’ve typed enough this morning.. pray for more rain so we can have some open water and we can all burn some that expensive stuff!!I’m glad I’m stopping before I get into the economical impact of the fraudulant E85 fuel source, and how it is costing all of us more money in our everyday lives.. hope those of you that have stock in ethanol make enuff $$ before it all comes crashing down in the next couple years!
I personally enjoy spending more money on a gallon of milk than a gallon of gas.. don’t you? Don’t blame the dairy folks.. their cost of feed has gone up.. they aren’t making any extra money off of it!!
ok now i’m done!October 11, 2007 at 4:53 pm #615648I own a 2000 Tahoe LT w/ 5.7 Vortek.. bought it w/ 120k on it.. have about 165K on it now.. haven’t had any engine issues.. replaced some U joints and a fuel sending unit.. and thats about it.. can’t really complain a bit! Knocking on wood!!
June 19, 2007 at 4:31 pm #582113I would have to disagree that the ponds walleyes are light for their length.. I think they are healthier and heavier there than a lot of lakes.. a 16 on Millie and a 16 on Cass don’t even compare… The reason there are less 30″ being caught is because of the digital camera era mixed in w/ rulers.. they are 2 pieces of standard equipment in your walley boat! If you post a 28 on this site and say its a 30.. people are going to throw the BS flag your way!
Its hard to catch a 30! that’s why we all want one!!
June 19, 2007 at 4:24 pm #582110What a great weekend.. I’m due for one of those one of these days!!
June 19, 2007 at 3:49 pm #582094Thanks to both of you for the advice!! going to try westwind this year!! seems to be what we are looking for.. want to be on the lake, and not have to load/unload the boats daily, etc!!! We have my 93 year old grandfather w/ us that weekend, and the fewer times in/out of cars and boats the better!!
Thanks again guys!
If anyone knows of anything else for the future LMK as well!
June 13, 2007 at 2:48 am #580089Ever looked into Chetek, WI? there is a six lake chain there that has excellent panfish and largemouth bass populations… If you are looking for something different then I would try elsewhere.. http://www.chetek.com/resorts.htm
This site has a list of some resorts/campgrounds on the chain! if you come up I hope you have fun!
June 6, 2007 at 10:40 pm #578467Not that it has a lot of combat in it, but The Great Escape is probably one of my favorite movies of the era!
May 23, 2007 at 5:58 am #574054Just be careful about scammers out there now guys.. I received an email y-day that wanted to buy my boat, and it was a theft ring.. protect yourselves, and pay the fee.. it is well worth it… IDA is a great site for all of us.. try and use the cities papers and find the classifieds sometimes!!! it costs a lot more to list something there and I haven’t been able to find the section for weeks!!
May 21, 2007 at 3:00 pm #573261heard big wolf was hot as well.. i was on it this weekend.. not so hot for us, but others did rather well as well!
May 7, 2007 at 1:58 pm #568552Planer boards w/ Walleye Divers in the middle of Big Stone Lake… obviously not looking for them, but they were biting on it!
May 7, 2007 at 1:56 pm #568550I love my Shimano Compre UL.. I have a cheapie scheels UL reel, but the sensation and the play you get out of the Compre is fantastic…I since upgraded my Walleye rods to Compre as well.. not ready to pay for the St. Croix or Loomis’ yet.. but I think I’m only one step away!! I do really enjoy what I have now a lot.. if you are using a store combo UL setup you need to try it!
May 7, 2007 at 1:24 pm #568530not at this time of the year.. it helps to have a couple guys or a group to go.. i can see when you’re by yourself how it would hit you a little harder, that’s when I stay local! Nothing you can do about it either just take it and enjoy your time on the water!
May 4, 2007 at 10:45 pm #568075Great Job.. thanks for reminding me to bring my camera w/ me on my son’s first trip.. hopefully on sunday!
May 4, 2007 at 10:21 pm #568068I agree… I am all for 2 lines in MN.. when you think about it, when you really get into fish, you have little chance to use both lines.. using two lines to find the fish and one once you find them makes sense and would make it more fun for all in your boat!.. I would think that the planer board companies would put together a hard lobby to get 2 lines in MN.. we just used 2 each on Big Stone.. couldn’t even imagine on my folks lake in WI where 3 lines are legal! now that is impossible!
May 4, 2007 at 12:47 am #567653If the sunnies were on this weekend, the crappies will be soon to follow glen.. I have spent a few spring days in the bay by the boat landing.. didn’t really need the boat, but why not right… sunnies and crappies hang tight to the shoreline and will bite until dark.. just watch out for the moron in the waders to walk in the water and ruin your spot worth it tho! the sunnies can get huge down there! best of luck!
April 17, 2007 at 1:33 pm #561620Thanks for the Info!
I’ll let you all know how it goes! Heading out at 11 am today!April 17, 2007 at 4:21 am #561555I’m totally in favor of 2 lines! I do a lot of fishing by myself, and seldom would be able to use two lines, but trolling 2 rap rods would be great, especially when all the other guys want to sleep when the fish want to eat!! My folks live on a lake in sconny where you can fish 3 lines.. what a mess when you’re panfishing, but can you cover some area trolling!
April 7, 2007 at 1:34 pm #558305That’s great.. .We got our entry fee in on Wednesday!
Can’t wait to test out the luck!April 4, 2007 at 2:12 am #556636my folks live on prarie lake and said the ice was gone on their end of the lake! time to hit the shallows!!
