See you there bright and early. Looks like you will have to back all the way down from the top of the hill.

July 9, 2013 at 1:51 pm #1182358Looking to catch mainly walleyes. Is it wporth trying ida for a day?
June 2, 2013 at 11:56 pm #1175071Fished saturday till 11 a.m. 2 legals. Probably caught 30+ shorts. I cant remember a year when there was so many 14-14.5″ fish. 15-25′ of water. O yeah, sheaphead are on a tear out there.
May 24, 2013 at 12:34 am #1173163If your going this weekend, firetiger, orangetiger with the weather. If the sun shines, blue and crome shadrap. Pretty much any rap will catch fish at different times on the croix!
I’ll be out saturday and monday, but i’m leaving the cranks at home. Need to get back to my roots and rig bait all weekend.
January 20, 2013 at 10:42 pm #1132944Not apposed to switching brands either. Need to be 7’6″ and have the ability to hold 3/4 – 1 oz sinkers.
September 10, 2012 at 1:00 am #1097583Tried in afton for a short time, all I got shorts on saturday. Wanting fish for dinner I opted for a 225 white paddletail and a pink BFT jig. Got a nice mess for dinner. Left when the wind kicked up.
September 7, 2012 at 8:15 pm #122857Thanks all. I know Chris W.has his place out in Ashley, Nd. Kind of what got the Juices flowing.
I guess deep down I figured if I get West of the Missouri there will be more land and less Hunters. At least that is my thought. Looking into Hettinger, N.D or Lemmon, S.D. for lodging purposes, but most places are all ready full for late Oct. That is diminishing my hope for less hunters.
September 7, 2012 at 4:30 pm #122850What is considered the Western Edge of the “Pot Hole” region? Is the Missouri the cut-off of the Pot-Hole Region?
Again, I have never even stepped foot in ND, so I have no idea what we’re getting into. I’ve heard getting rooms are tough, so I’ like to get a spot booked and the will just have to put on lots of miles in the truck.
September 6, 2012 at 7:58 pm #122825Thanks for the info. Our main target is pheasants, but we like the opportunity for a mixed bag. I heard there are area’s with good populations of Huns? Anyone have info on where all 3 birds can be taken.
June 8, 2012 at 2:25 am #1074617Thanks for all the tips. I’ve pulled my share of lead on the river so that’s not new. I’ve just never used 50 foot leaders. Is it necissary or can you get by with less?
May 24, 2012 at 9:03 pm #1071085Will be running 2 leadcore and probably 2 boards.
What size Deep Tail dancers on the boards? 9’s or 11’s?
May 23, 2012 at 4:34 pm #1070484Wife with as south end 26″ Weed Walleye.
Me with a 26.5″ shallow water Eye.
May 23, 2012 at 4:12 pm #1070470She’s not. Just a old sweatshirt that’s been in the closet for years. Time to throw it out.
I’ll be heading up the Middle of June. Anyone have thoughts on types of Cranks? I see Fleet Farm has Salmo’s and Shad Raps on sale this week. What sizes for Mid June?
May 22, 2012 at 4:58 pm #1070117Well. Never got to pull cranks this weekend. Just rigged for the most part. Had a solid bite on Leeches and Crawlers out in 24-27 ft on the Rocks.
Friday we head trailered the Boat to cover bay to get out of the wind. Hooked some nice fish in 15-18 ft over there as well lindy rigs with 10′ leads.
May 16, 2012 at 5:46 pm #1068656Thanks for the suggestions. I’ll be out there first thing tomorrow morning rigging.
When you say trolling the rocks during the day are you talking deep rocks like, 3 Mile or 4 and 5 mile. Or are we talking the shallow roof reefs closer to shore?
Sounds like there’s going to be really good breeze out there this week. With that push fish back in, even with this warm weather?
April 11, 2012 at 8:59 pm #1058056Thanks for all the suggestions! I called on a couple cabins and also the Red Door, but all were booked. I decided that Fisher’s would be a good spot for our group.
I always launch out of Hunter’s, so the North end will be a new challenge for us. How is the Trolling bite up there in Mid June? Or Spinner bite? Or rigging Bite? Or Boober bite? Don’t care how I have to catch them, I just want to catch something besides a .
February 16, 2012 at 12:42 am #1039456Will be at Arnesen’s the 8th-11th, staying in a sleeper. Last 2 years we went out of Ballards a week later. Never had a problem.
March is by far the best! Last couple years it’s be 40-50 degrees. Catch lots of fish, a little sun and a few . What could be better!
December 14, 2011 at 1:12 am #1017465Thanks for the suggestions. Looks like D Rock has some.
Now. Who uses a 6″ or 7″ auger? How much faster do they cut than a 8″?
March 31, 2011 at 12:29 pm #952505Bub,

Jesse,
As soon as I get my Purple hair, that will be next. Maybe green head and Puple and White hair/ Tinsel mix.
January 19, 2011 at 3:26 am #927702Chris,
Got a recipie for smoking them. I was up on the pond over the weekend and we kept 6 for the smoker. Should have kept more!! They were thick on every flat we hit!
January 7, 2011 at 9:08 pm #923881It has new gas, new spark plug, can some seafoam through her. Idels great, but once you apply pressure she dies out.
November 5, 2010 at 4:09 pm #908134Thanks Dean. Spur of the moment trip. I know fleet has some styles, but there mainly either the Zip’s or Cicad’s (sp), which I’m not that big of a fan of. I was hoping maybe you stock the gas stations in Prescott!
September 27, 2010 at 3:19 pm #900993Congrats to Dude on a awesome bag of fish!! Thanks to Turk for catching a 8 pounder and taking big fish honors allowing us to slide into Second Place!
All our fish were caught trolling Cranks in 16-22′ of water. Both Leadcore and 3-Ways took all our fish. Current is really starting to move, had to use 5-6oz 3-way weights just to stay down.
