I don’t get on here as much as I’d like but I think it’s a great idea.
April 2, 2013 at 10:47 pm #1158635I couldn’t have asked for advice in a better place. I really appreciate your input guys. Thank you very much. When it comes to a planned 3 hour trip one way, I really want to make sure chances are decent. Thanks again guys and I hope to see you on the water this weekend!
January 22, 2013 at 11:28 pm #129034Add PSE to the list too. This boycott should make some folks listen
January 22, 2013 at 12:59 am #128993Looking at the response for the big hunting show in Pa with everyone boycotting I think they are making a mistake.
January 22, 2013 at 12:56 am #128992They released a statement saying all it was was a rumor. I don’t have the link but you can google.
September 9, 2011 at 1:37 am #993752I haven’t had much success on big numbers of perch, but the perch I find on the Mississippi River in NE Iowa seem to be sand flats just off the main current. Typcially it is 8-12 FOW. I have only had success on a jig 1/16oz or less typed with only a minnow. Hopefully this will give you a tiny bit of advice. I’m seeking the old orangefin myself
June 3, 2011 at 12:54 pm #970669As usual Chris, great read, and great photos! Makes me want to go and fish for a beast myself!
February 28, 2011 at 12:26 am #942091Hey guys, the latest weather report shows a high of 28 and a low of 20 for Saturday March 5th. Looks like it could be a decent day out there!
February 10, 2011 at 2:36 pm #936067I hope to see all of you out there in a couple weeks!!!
It’s wally time!!
February 2, 2011 at 5:41 pm #932800There is nothing better than spending some time trapped in an ice shack with friends and family. Even if the fish aren’t biting, there are still memories made. Pictures of a trip like that, whether they have fish in them or not are priceless!!
PS- give me some warm weather too please
January 5, 2011 at 5:17 pm #922870I would sign Jerry’s book. I went to Canada with Ryan and Jerry back in 2000. I fished with Jerry one day, just him and I. He had a walleye up to the boat that would have been our big fish for the trip that got away. I knew he had a good fish on when I noticed his handle of his rod was bending while fighting the fish. I had the net ready to help land the fish. The fish was just about to the surface when it come unbuttoned. I was more worked up than Jerry. Jerry says, “oh well, guess that one will get bigger for the next guy” CLASSIC Jerry.
Chris, I know Jeff is pumped as he gears up, heading north to fish with you. I hope to see some good photos of you guys as well!!
January 5, 2011 at 4:05 pm #922839Looks like a great trip up there!! Nice fish guys! Jerry always looks so excited when holding a big fish. Some things never change. I suppose he probably fought those fish like they were just the average sized ones too huh Ryan? Cool photos fellas!!
October 2, 2010 at 2:45 am #902164I gotta say, that looks like a good day on the water Krapfl. See ya on the water, ol boy!
April 16, 2010 at 1:11 pm #864386Hello, my name is Josh and I have plastic envy. Those new baits look flippin awesome! Probably going to stick piggy wallys and wipers with those! Love the write up also!
April 6, 2010 at 2:11 pm #861154Awesome fish! That’ll be a memory that will probably stay fresh in your mind for a VERY long time. Awesome!
March 11, 2010 at 1:07 am #851967I am interested in these Phenix rods. Can you send me a website or some info abou these rods? Are they only available in blanks or a finished rod? Any info would be much appreciated. I have had some bad experiences with the customer service for GLOOMIS/SHIMANO/POWERPRO and really need to start thinking about other options. LOVE my GLOOMIS rods, but sometimes ya just have to check out other options.
March 4, 2010 at 9:50 pm #849327do we know a tentative number of boats total in the FYB yet? Curious……
February 12, 2010 at 5:36 am #841714Thanks for the info guys. That’s the best thing about this website. Everyone is surely willing to give some information to help a fellow fisherman out. The only tournament I’ve ever been a part of was a pro-am MWC out of Praire Du Chein, WI. It was a great time!! This I believe will be more laid back than that. Thanks again guys. See you on the water.
February 12, 2010 at 1:18 am #841631Here are some pictures from last year I thought I’d share with you guys. My son is 4 years old, will be 5 this fall. Jason B’s daughter is with my boy holdin the bluegill.
February 11, 2010 at 3:47 pm #841433My favorite thing to do is take my son fishing! He is 4 years old and will be 5 this fall. I’ve taken him numerous times open water fishing in the summer. I’ll try and post some pictures of this kid tearin up the bass in small ponds. I am a little hesitant to take him ice fishing. Maybe next year? Anyway, the best thing you can do is get a kid hooked on fishing!!!!
February 11, 2010 at 4:44 am #841340hey guys, Jason B and I will be up for the Tourny. Where do you recommend we spend the night? Any ideas would be appreciated. Is there a get together after the tournament? Also, approximately how many boats were in the tournament last year? This is our 1st actual tournament and would like to have an idea what it will be like. Thanks guys, see you on the water!!!!
