    UPDATE!
We have identified this issue and now have a software update in place to resolve this issue. This software can be found on humminbird.com in the MyHumminbird section of our site. The new version number is 7.650.
The issue revolved around corrupt Tracks, Waypoints and Routes that were typically being created when the i-Pilot Link was abruptly taken out of a state of navigation. The description of the fix is as follows:
“Targeted bug fixes to v_7.590, addressing Tracks, Waypoints and Route (TWR) data corruption in the non-volatile ram memory. Software now ignores this type of invalid TWR data and will not save nor propogate this type of invalid TWR data.”
IF your unit is currently in the reboot state, please read the attached FAQ on how to reset your unit. If you follow the instructions in this FAQ, it is unlikely that you will need to return your unit to us for service. This is very similar to the normal update process.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this bug has caused. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any additional questions.
This release still incorporates the new feature and change for 7.590 listed below.
    NEW FEATURE
Added support for the AS RC1 Bluetooth Dongle and Remote
    GENERAL CHANGE
Removed support for the Quadra Beam transducer

The 8 series Humminbirds are not explicitly mentioned,<BR>Are the older series, E.G. 1198, included in this?

The 800,900, and 1100 units ending in 8 are not included in this, nor is the ONIX and ION products.

With the lakemaster card in an Onix unit, When you are on a Chart Screen if you If you go to Chart Options, Preferences, Depth, you can then adjust your depth colors, depth highlight, highlight range, shallow water and contour intervals. If the contour Intervals is turned off you will not see contours on the map.

My 2 year old Hummingbird 597 ci HD with down imaging is having trouble reading bottom all of a sudden. It is acting like the power is turned way down on the sensitivity but it is still on auto. I am trying to figure out a) is this likely to be a head unit or the transducer and b) should I be going to Johnson outdoors with a question like this or is it mine to take care of since it is 2 plus years old. This started this spring where at times it did not read bottom well and was not showing fish but this weekend it went completely egg shaped. Thoughts? Similiar situations? Solutions?

I have a bunch of questions for you.

Have you restored defaults on the unit?
Have you made any changes to the unit or the boat?
What software version are you running?

Does the issue occur in DI and traditional sonar?
If u have a screen snapshot available to share that would help us “see” what you are seeing on the unit.

Have you checked the transducer for any damage to it or the cable?

Does the problem occur all the time or just when moving or sitting still?

    Thank you,
    Deborah @ Humminbird

Are the units connected via Etherent? If so make sure both units have the network tab and the network has been set up. (starting at page 8, on the below network manual)

    http://store.humminbird.com/media/document/Ethernet_Manual.pdf

Are you using one or two transducers? The 1158c DI would need to use the DI transducer in order to get DI readings.

    Happy Boating!

The 718 will display your location when you add the gps receiver to it, you will see your track and you can mark a waypoint to go back to the area. However, the 718 will not display any maps on the unit.

Please make sure you have chart detail level set to all and spot soundings set to visible on the unit. Also did you adjust your zoom level, different areas may require different zoom levels to see contours on the lake.

You would also want to make sure you have the most recent software update for your 788ci DI unit.

The US2 sonar does not provide the need frequency for your DI unit.

The DI unit is looking for 455 kHz or 800 kHz that the universal sonar does not provide the unit.

We do not recommend that you use any transducer other than the DI transducer on a DI unit.

    Thank you,
