I like the looks of the Kwikdraw bag, but those Gander Mnt. fly boxes look promising too. Those would be easier to toss in the coat pocket when hole jumping.
I think I might just have to try this out!
Thanks for the idea TD

February 1, 2007 at 3:15 pm #531216Congrats Glenn I think your BIG brother has guided you in the right direction. —->This way to the lake, now you just have to show him where to find the fish
I will be watching for your house out on the lake so I can lock in on your hot spots
Again, Congrats, Troy
January 29, 2007 at 4:08 pm #529350That’s even hard to do when you don’t have a hangover… But it was fun trying it! Thanks for the fun this morning!
January 28, 2007 at 4:22 am #528951Lou I can’t remember the name of the stuff I used and can’t find the bottle I believe it is a white bottle with a pale green label, it says right on the bottle deet free. It’s a lotion type, and this stuff works really good for me. I had a really bad breakout from deet 3 years ago. I had the worst hives, whole face, arms, and legs were swollen. Dr. told me to try that lotion stuff and I haven’t had a problem since. I think it is some kind of Aloe and Citranella in this.
January 27, 2007 at 7:00 am #528789As they would say on the Mind of Mencia…De De Dee!! I am sure he will feel that for the next few days.
January 27, 2007 at 6:16 am #528783Welcome to IDA Kyle & Chris…Enjoy the site and the knowledge you will learn from others on here as I have
January 26, 2007 at 9:29 pm #528610cb2, if you would like I have a 30 gallon and a 40 gallon breeder tanks I could let ya have real cheap to get those fish in some more room til you save enough money to get your big tank? $20 and you can pick which one you want?
Or better yet, make me a pizza some time and we’ll call it even!
January 25, 2007 at 4:37 pm #527845I remember about 10 years ago someone had broken into my buddys house (and many others that same night) out on Clearwater, took everything he had including the coffee can he used to set on the “now stolen also” wood stove. What really baffles me is they stole the wood too. (Still think it was some young kids that did this).
He was really upset by this and decided to pull his house in and make it burgular proof.
By that I mean he cut a 3 ft. by 2 ft. square into his house by the entrance and cut open the ice there. He then proceeded to put latte boards down and an old carpet over them.
He checked the house every morning for the next month waiting to see if the carpet had been sucked down to the bottom of the lake. Never happened and actually I am quite glad it didn’t as I am sure he would be in lots of trouble with the law.
Although one day his dad decides to go out fishing not knowing there is a booby trap waiting on the otherside of the doorway.
As he steps in he hits the hole falls forward and breaks his right leg and ankle.
Thankfully that’s the only thing that happened to him. He still talks to me about it to this day as the day “I almost killed my dad”.I guess it just goes to show that trying to get even with the thieves in your own hands might just hurt the ones you really care about.
January 22, 2007 at 6:31 pm #526002We only came up for the day but it sure was a blast. Also enjoyed meeting a few of the people on here!
Next year we are definately going to book a house early enough.January 21, 2007 at 6:31 am #525608That is too funny. Although that almost happened to me today at the GTG. Bent over to scoop out the holes and plop went my phone, just a good thing I didn’t get to that hole yet and there was enough slush in the hole to hold my phone. Next time I am leaving it in the truck.
I did drop 2 lighters in the hole today after I was warned by my girlfriend to zip my pockets up.January 18, 2007 at 7:55 pm #524817I agree with Scott that keeping minnows in a cheap aquarium has been ideal for my minnows. I keep them in my front window ledge to keep the water cold, but not freeze up and use an aerator to keep the water moving and every day I do a partial water change.
I should add that I also have the aquarium glass covered from the sun as not to get an algae bloom started.
This has worked for me and I don’t remember the last time I have lost a minnow from this.
Just my $.02
September 18, 2006 at 2:41 am #479843When the trees hit the garage it ended up knocking the gagage off the foundation and cracking it to the ground.
It also took their 500 gallon fuel tank and moved it 20 yards into the woods, what a mess we have to deal with!!
The only good news is nobody was injured as a result of this storm!!September 16, 2006 at 3:17 am #479434Quote:
Still have a problem when them Northerns are on my line, I am alot more comfortable when my brother is there…
But he isn’t much better either, that’s why you need me in the boat!!

August 27, 2006 at 11:28 pm #472729Well just took the locator and used another transducer and power supply and still have the same problem, so I am guessing it is the the head unit that is shot. Well thanks for the help.!!
TroyAugust 27, 2006 at 9:01 pm #472709James transducer looks like new(no chips or any damage I can see) and it is facing straight down. Guess my next thing to do is try another transducer and see if that fixes the problem.
Thank you for the help!!
TroyAugust 26, 2006 at 4:58 am #472540After reading this post, I just had to run up to Gander Mountsin and try out the Pfluegers. Now they are some really smooth reels, guess after the boat is put away for the season I will just have to get myself a few of these and try them out in the spring.
Like I have heard in these posts, they are smooth as butter…Thanks guys, just got me hooked on a new reel, lol. Time to retire the Shimano’s or let the daughter use them, lol
TroyAugust 24, 2006 at 8:42 pm #472110Thanks Mike. I too grew up on this lake but never had problems catching them even this time of year. I haven’t been fishing here in a few years now and just lost every clue I had with them…lol The bass and pike are very plentiful out there. The gills are quite small out there and taking a 9 year old out she gets bored quickly with these…lol Oh well guess she’ll have to learn to hook a pike or 2
August 24, 2006 at 12:32 am #471790Awesome pics…Really like fishing on the horseshore chain, but haven’t made that 45 minute drive up there in years! Now you have me wanting to take a trip!
