The buoys have moved due to high water. You can have at it between the I-35 bridge, west to the small island where the volleyball net is in the water. Everything else between cross and Pokegama is no-wake.

x3 on the big bait pucks. I buy larvae in bulk and am able to keep them fairly fresh for up to two months. Fill up smaller bait puck when you head out. Just don’t dump out those black ones in a trash can you won’t take out for a while (as in a heated shed)…you’d be suprised at the size of the flies that can come out of them in January!

Have done well with any of the larger mepps inline spinners, you don’t have to go real big on the baits on the upper croix to target them. Just be careful tho, as water levels are crazy high now! Good luck

Howdy guys, I was just fishing out of Arneson’s sleepers last Wednesday through Friday with 3 other guys, seemed to be a good operation. It wasn’t the crazy Lake of the Woods fishing we’ve all heard about, but we did catch some fish. We had a mixed bag including walleye (3 in the slot at 22″) lots of saugers, pout, a suprising number of perch, toulibee, and Pike. Good Luck!

I’ve seen only a Pioneer Press story on it, and from the looks of it, this will be pretty big since no one from DNR or USFWS is commenting on it yet. Will be interested to see a news release including law enforcement’s response. Sit tight, I think we’ll be happy with this one!

It depends on where u are thinking about doing your camping. Any state forest that has a pay/fee campground is going to have that campground closed because it is managed by state parks. Good luck.

I had one…awesome rig. I had a center console alumacraft 16 1/2 ‘ Jon model. Weight dispersion is key since you’ll be in skinny water…also float pods are a must!

The good part is thankfully no one has to see that idiot dead somewhere on the ice…hopefully someone gets through to him and he realizes he put others at risk trying to find his dumb !

Wow…that is definitely some bad luck! Hopefully you got it all out of your system on that adventure! Was up there as well over the weekend but didn’t have luck like yours. Had to assist another icehead with a spare sparkplug after his other partners took off (And didn’t come back! Lol). We found the fishing tough but the wind on Sunday was the worst. Good luck on your next adventure!

Head to the lowrance website and do a search on your unit and the power cable associated with it. They have pics that tell you exactly what the wires are and what they are for. My guess is you should only have to use two of the three wires, but it depends on how your system is set up. Good Luck!

I agree with Cade, the best fishing I have seen is prior to a major storm…if there’s one forecasted, I’m out on the ice at least 2-4 hrs prior to it hitting and at least 2 hrs into it. I’ve heard the rise in pressure triggers fish also, but IMHO the fall in pressure is the best. But any day on the ice rocks!!!

Just FYI: Last time I checked on the 385 it wasn’t lakemaster compatible…only Navionics.

NVM…just checked Birds site and see they must have upgraded…good luck on your decision!

If you fish a lot of different water, like to take a few trips each year, it is well worth the money. If you only fish a couple bodies of water, probably not. The great thing with the lakemaster chip (MN anyway) is also that they have very detailed road maps along with the lake maps, various DNR trails marked in State Forests, BWCAW portages…something I wasn’t expecting. Good Luck!

Sweet rods! I personally like the tica cetus ss and se reels and have them on all my ice rods. Very smooth, awesome drags, great in cold weather, and small in profile but have caught fish on them over 15lbs. Good Luck!

I have a 2005 90 and no complaints here either. Runs and starts like a motor should. If your looking at motors from these earlier 2000 years, I’ve been told to stick with the fuel injected models as the carbed ones have had issues…
