Get n go doesn’t have minnows in the winter (only in the summer), their outdoor bait shack isn’t heated.

I’m not sure of their hours, but Ace does sell licenses and the have pretty good selection of tackle also.

I’ve been out there several times (on the MN side) It’s nothing like it was last year, we have only caught 2 or 3 over 15″. Most of the time you’re watching fish follow your jig around on the Marcum, you will catch some 8 – 10″ sauger. Pretty slow. There is fairly good Ice 8 – 12″, but watch out for the points, there will be less ice there!

    You’re right StillaKid,

Last spring I was Turkey hunting and came across a patch of Morel Mushrooms. I leaned my camo gun on a tree and picked a bunch of the mushrooms, when I was done it took me about 15 minutes to find my gun again.

I haven’t been on Frontenac Pond myself, but as I drove by this past Sunday there were vehicles and quite a few permanent shacks out there.

More Pictures, here’s the big fish winner. Dean and Dan Krukow caught a 8.90 pound walleye, and a couple others nice ones.

I just e-mailed the final results to Bill, I’m sure he’ll have them posted soon. It was a great turnout, we ended up with 94 boats. Thanks to everyone who entered the tournament, we appreciate it!! Hope you all had a good time, see you next year.

I don’t know about Wabasha, but the docks are not in at any of the public Lake City Ramps… Roschen or Hok-Si-La. I do believe the LC Marina has the dock in at their ramp.

Yes, Colville is also open. In fact all of Lake Pepin is open as well… the ice disappeared in a hurry after the ice breaker went through!

Thanks for the info Mike. We’ll probably hit the river in RW then. I’d rather be out in the boat than mucking around in 6 inches of slush on the ice.

    Thanks again!

    Big B,

Waterman’s is now the Skyline, different owners. I don’t think the food is as good now. The Port has great food… another good resturant in LC is Bronks, it’s right downtown on the main drag.

That’s good info to know, Thanks. I hadn’t heard anything about him going to court and losing. I’ll give it a try in there sometime.

Because of the stories I’ve heard about the onwner at Hanson’s Harbor, I’ve NEVER ventured in there to fish. One time we were trolling the shoreline outside the harbor and he started cussing us out… claiming we were too close and getting in the way of his customers.

Gator, have you fished in there before, or just heard it from other guys?

I don’t mind Jeff Gordon either, but unlike you kid, I do like Kevin Harvick and Tony Stewart, occasionally I’ll even cheer for Kurt Busch (when he ruffling Jimmy Spencer’s feathers!!)

I was glad to see Kenseth win the Championship being that he’s a local Midwest guy!

Sorry newbie, Digger doesn’t rent out shacks any longer. He didn’t know of anyone who does either. Sorry I couldn’t help ya out.

I’ll see Digger tonight. I’ll ask him about shack rental on Pepin, if he doesn’t do it anymore he may know someone that does. Get back to you about it tomorrow.

Fished just north of Maple Springs on 12/26 in 22 to 26 feet, we didn’t catch anything in the morning, but other guys there said there’s been a decent sauger bite in the evenings.

Decided not to go to Faribault, fished Lake Pepin instead. Thanks for the reports, though, keep them coming. I know we’ll make to Shields or Mazaska a couple times this winter.

    Guide,

How did you do on Mazaska? I’m planning on fishing Faribault area Friday(12/26). Last year we did pretty good there on the crappies. We fished on the west side in about 12-15 feet. We’re looking for a good panfish/crappie bite, any help you can give would be great. Thanks.
