During my limited experience of hunting bears they always take off after I start to descend from the tree….though, I like the airhorn idea..just in case.
September 14, 2009 at 2:57 pm #58217The whole idea of waiting is due to the fact that a poor hit will take much longer to end that deer’s life. A gut shot deer could take 7 hours or better before it will end the deer’s life. If it’s an evening hunt, a majority of the deer meat should be good if found right away the next morning.
September 9, 2009 at 2:04 pm #57723Light and steady rain…no problem. But hard rain and wind curtails their senses and makes them unlikely to move.
March 26, 2009 at 2:31 pm #762809Maybe he should’ve taken the bait out of his mouth so not to tip off anybody as to what he caught it on…..give me a break…to each his own. Congrats on a great fish is what I’m thinking. The best part of fishing is finding those spots that nobody else knows about anyway.
March 26, 2009 at 5:48 am #762733Will Lowrance replace the puck? Thanks for all the responses guys…
March 25, 2009 at 5:58 pm #762473Well, I checked all wiring, rewired a new in-line fuse, checked the connections and no luck…..the only thing left to do would be grabbing a friends puck and seeing if the GPS will pick it up. Unless you guys would think that the unit is in need of updates – leading to the problem.

November 3, 2008 at 3:29 pm #41850Do you mean versus some rich guy from Illinois…just kidding. I agree with you 100%.
November 3, 2008 at 3:27 pm #41849Great story and first deer Jorgy…..same to Grant. I give it 131″ net
November 3, 2008 at 3:22 pm #41847The article stated that he’d already taken it to a taxidermist. I hope the taxidermist has good security.
I hope he’s gotten some better pics too. Right now, looking at those pics, I’d say that he’s not the new world record.April 23, 2008 at 9:12 pm #35772I certainly feel for the father and family, but at the same time, I’d like to smack him….as to how you can possibly mistake something, someone for a turkey, or deer, or squirrel is beyond my though process. I can’t imagine just shooting at something that looks like the animal I’m hunting. He should never be allowed to hunt nor own a weapon again.
March 17, 2008 at 2:42 pm #6660583 years ago I picked up a 97 9.9 hp kicker w/electric start for 1300….maybe I paid too much?
February 19, 2008 at 12:08 am #34650WhatI know about the Cuddies is that they have great trigger speed but a very narrow cone angle of detection for triggering the pics. There’s a neat website that does independant testing on various cameras…I’ll try to find it again and post it.
January 25, 2008 at 6:01 pm #6888Here it is:
Recall notice on RAGE 3 Blade blades shipped between March 6th 2007 and May 31st 2007 … Rageā¢, the revolutionary rear-deploying expandable broadhead……
Found doing a search for ‘expandable broadhead recall’January 25, 2008 at 5:55 pm #6886Isn’t there a recall on the Rage expandables…or is that the Grim Reaper? Something about elbow-wear or rounding causing expansion malfunction. I’ll try to find that article again, unless somebody knows what I’m talking about and can clarify.
January 25, 2008 at 5:49 pm #688540 yds is the max for me….and I’d say your friend is full of it….absolutely pure luck….not much kinetic energy left at 90 yds. Those turkeys are tough birds.
January 21, 2008 at 8:34 pm #7054Protour, good luck……who did you say was the outfitter for this trip? Would love to look into doing something like this myself. Would appreciate any more information. Thanks.
August 8, 2007 at 2:41 pm #598118Some of the guys have been putting out reports on Pools 14 & 16 over the last month…..might want to look back at those or pm them. Will be down there as well. It sounds like wing dams and clam beds. Good luck.
August 3, 2007 at 5:20 pm #596775Nearly all will have to deal with back pain sometime in their lives. About 3 out of 5 people have bulging/herniating discs…..whether they have back pain or not. It’s a matter of how much herniation, what structures it’s pushing against, how much inflammation, is it ruptured?, are the adjacent muscles involved?….there are so many variables and many diferent treatments that work (including chiropractic). Surgery is almost always the last resort with exceptions of obvious limb weakness or loss of function, intractable pain secondary to direct impingement of the nerve root, etc….otherwise, conservative measures are the general rule until all modalities have been tried (NSAIDs, steroids, therapy, chiropractic, time) then surgery will be considered. Good mechanics with bending/lifting will help prevent injuries as well as maintaining good ‘core’ strength.
July 26, 2007 at 2:08 pm #33209I would think that is only an issue, if at all, if you are burying the string on your anchor. I like watching those pros shoots and it seems almost all have sometype of multi-point anchor.
