Gentlemen: I’m looking to put a 75 hp tiller motor on a 175 navigator. I’ve looked at The etechs, yamaha’s, hondas, opti’s. The more I look and compare the more confussed I get. I like the quietness of the four strokes. I think the new tiller handle on the yamaha is great. The yamaha dealer says his motor will troll slower than the others and the etech dealer says his motor will idle slower than any body elses. I think the the new DI 2 strokes are cheaper to operate and maintain. I live in N E Iowa and the closet dealer to me handles Honda and Mercs. If I drive another 30 miles then I can get the other brands mentioned above. My current boat is a 1993 170 alumacraft competitor with the same year yamaha pro 60 and it has caused me no problems at all. I’m not trying to stir the pot I’m looking for usefull and positive information. Thanks for your help & info

Stop at the bait shop in Afton. You can see it from Hwy.34 He has free maps of the Lake and is full of good info. All species of fish are available. You might consider 12 Mile Lake which is just a few miles further west. The DNR is going to lower the lake 20 ft.to do some reconstruction of the Lake and they have lifted the size limits and quantity limits on all speceis of fish. Good Luck
