Thanks everyone, I think this will get me started. Just one thing more tho, on the open launches do you usually need to reserve spots?
March 18, 2007 at 3:06 pm #550112Yes, It is important. Also, if people catch fish and decide to keep some, how do they keep them sorted, or do you bring your own cooler for them?
October 26, 2006 at 12:26 am #492387Put on a pair of bib overalls, a straw hat, and carry a garden hoe. When someone ask’s what you’re supposed to be, tell them you’re a rural pimp, and this here is your best Hoe. Worked for me…….
June 5, 2006 at 10:52 pm #451588Thanks everyone, that’s the kind of stuff I was looking for. Looks like I have a lot of checking around to do!
May 28, 2006 at 1:40 pm #449806I agree with the rest of these guys, that’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was a kid. If I had the boat, time, and money I’d go for it. Life’s to short to put things off..
December 2, 2005 at 11:41 pm #400866I’m not sure that’s a telephone pole, after a careful study of size ratios it looks like her toothpick….

And Dr. Max and Mombo was the show to see….July 26, 2005 at 11:34 pm #375009Mille Lacs is a good choice, the Red Door resort up on the north side is a nice place. A room with a double bed will cost you about 55.00 for a night. Their website is Reddoorresort.com, or 218) 678-3686
July 13, 2005 at 2:51 pm #372788That must be “the modern caring sensitive male” in action.
One clip was enough tho…June 24, 2005 at 12:57 pm #369868Cheer up, you can’t be the worst fisherman ever. I learned a long time ago that I could go anywhere and not catch fish, so now I stay close to home and not catch them! Saves on gas money that way…….
June 6, 2005 at 3:45 pm #366500I agree with Crappiechaser, you should let Jim know about the problem. If he does’nt know about it he can’t fix it. That is definitely not typical service!
January 31, 2005 at 10:39 pm #339851I heard this story Sat, as much as I wish it were true, I can’t buy it. If the guy was buried for even 3 full days, how did he breath? And just how much snow can you pack down by peeing on it? he was probably free the first handful or two and decided to just stay where he was….
March 19, 2002 at 10:56 pm #239258I just ordered some on Sunday, and hope to get down to Redwing soon to try them out. Usually I can go anywhere and not catch fish, so if I do get any, I will have found the Miracle Bait!
February 24, 2002 at 3:20 pm #237744If you think that was a trick, you should see how the guy handles his Jet-ski!
February 24, 2002 at 2:57 pm #237741I can’t pass up the chance of winning a free lure. How about March 10, 6lb-15oz. Congratulations to you and you family!
November 18, 2001 at 10:49 pm #234993The story I have took place on Bald Eagle ramp before it was re-done. Even then, there was room for two trailers at a time, but this group of about 6-8 people had their rig right in the middle of the ramp on a busy afternoon, and were attempting to load a very new pro-v on a roller trailer. The driver backed the trailer down the ramp until the winch post reached the front of the still floating boat. The boat was hooked up and winched tight, and as three guys standing in the water on each side of the boat pushed back and forth, the driver would slowly pull ahead untill the trailer started coming out. After many attempts to get the boat to settle properly onto the trailer they finally got the thing loaded, and out of the way. I’ve never before or since seen a boat loaded that way, but they would have rated a pretty “good”? score.
November 18, 2001 at 3:58 pm #234984I agree with most of your choices, but you left your own boat full of water story off the list, that was a good one. My vote goes to Rivereyes for his Mille Lacs ramp story. It’s far funnier to see a cocky person screw up than someone who just made a dumb mistake.
August 9, 2001 at 10:22 pm #232590Try a nightcrawler on a Lindy rig, and just let it drag slowly along with your drag open and finger on the line. My wife got a forty eight incher that way. She can be so lucky sometimes!!
July 31, 2001 at 12:57 am #232257Thats a pretty good story, good thing you were just a little guy, you might not have gotten away with it otherwise, bit it sure showed a lot of ambition!
July 29, 2001 at 1:44 pm #232171Hoggie,
Why wait until the get together to tell that story? I’m just a little curious how a fish weighs 15 lbs, with 16 lbs of goose in it! C’mon, let us hear (read) it!June 16, 2001 at 5:03 pm #230402It’s great that you can lay a claim on a screen name, I’ve had mine for a few years now, and I don’t consider that I am using your name, if that’s what you’re referring to. I’ve seen three names that are similar, and personally, I don’t want to get into a Pi**ing contest over who was first. I guess I never thought it that big a deal to bring it up myself, but I feel I needed to respond to you.
