There will be some seriously lucky people out there for the “special” hunt, I have seen a monster out there numerous times on the northeast corner of the lake. Got a up close an personal look at him about a month ago while looking for some bass right along the shore line! Good luck to all out there!

Awesome fish, it was a nice treat to watch you battle with that one and finally land it!!
October 22, 2006 at 9:30 pm #491402Things got a bit better for us on Saturday (10/21). We got started a little earlier and finished with 4 fish from about a half hour before dark until about 9:45. The biggest was a little over 25″. Thank you all for the suggestions. We hit fish in the 5-8 fow range and were trolling clown/ chrome & blue hj 12 and smithy’s fire. That will mark my last trip up that way until hard water, good luck to all still planning trips that way!!!!
October 19, 2006 at 1:21 pm #490556With the wally bites really heating up around the state I have pretty much been concentrating on them but hope to get out for some bassin in the near future!
October 19, 2006 at 1:19 pm #490554Heading up to Mille Lacs again, hopefully things have gotten a little better up there by the weekend!
October 15, 2006 at 1:59 am #488776This will be my first trip to the Red Wing dam area, I usually stay around pool 5 and 5a (Alma and Bass Camp). Hopefully Sunday will bring on a nice bite! Good luck to all! Oh yeah, I will be in an older tan and brown fish-n-ski, Say HI!
NateOctober 11, 2006 at 11:58 pm #487860That year and at the number of miles, sounds like a heck of a buy. Before you do, look at the track for any rot, take a look at BOTH clutches to make sure there is no abnormal wear(any grooves in the sheaths, weights are smooth, belt isn’t wore more on one side than the other). Those EXT’s were a pretty decent sled for the money. Pretty good power but nothing to pull your shoulders out. Good luck!
NateOctober 6, 2006 at 1:59 am #486261Click on the last light blue link, “All Mississippi River Navigation Charts”. When your computer pops up asking if you would like to open or save, select save. It takes a while to download the files but it is well worth it! Great detail on all markers and wingdams. Good luck!
October 3, 2006 at 8:13 pm #485192What sections of the river are you looking for? I have pool 3 through 9 I think, in color. Let me know,
NateOctober 2, 2006 at 8:20 pm #484787Hey Ike,
If you ever want to team up on the bass out there let me know! I am always up for fishin!
NateSeptember 26, 2006 at 11:39 pm #483003Went out there again this afternoon with one of my employees, the fishin was kind of slow. A few in the slop and a few from cranks! About 10 fish total for us in about 3 hours. I will attatch the first fish ever for the guy I brought out. He then asked what I was doing Friday after work. I think he is hooked! Sounds like a plan on trading secrets, most of the fish are small but I seem to find a few bigger ones now and then
September 26, 2006 at 1:50 pm #482742Well I finally broke down and bought a digi a couple of weeks agao. It sure is nice not to have to measure and guess anymore, or use my ancient spring scale. So I am assuming you make it out to Chester some?
September 25, 2006 at 3:21 am #482157From the original post, about 2 1/2 lbs. From the 23rd, I hit a real decent one for chester at 4lbs 6 oz. Typically out there 2-3 lb fish is doing pretty good. And yes, it is great when I come home and the girlfriend won’t even let me come near her until I take a shower!
September 24, 2006 at 2:00 am #481973Went out again today, horny toads in the weeds and slop produced 90% of the fish today. Cranks and spinner baits did find a few too. In about 3 1/2 hours between two of us we boated 46 fish. Some nice sized ones but mostly the normal 1-1/2 lbs fish. Hope others are getting out there too!
September 13, 2006 at 10:01 pm #478443I wish I could put together some fish like that at a tourney. Just never seems to work out like that though!
September 12, 2006 at 3:16 am #477653Mostly the Miss, Does the Zumbro have decent cats? Always fishin from the boat. As for channels or flats, I don’t really know. Like I said before I have absolutely no experince with cats, just the occasional fluke of catching them when fishing for other species. I am just trying to get a few tips of where to look and what to use as bait for what time of year, etc. I will do some looking at the older posts and see what I can find but any info you could share would be great! Thanks agian!

P.S. THAT IS NOT BAITSeptember 5, 2006 at 1:55 am #474910I have got a 97′ S-10 extended cab, 4×4, with the 4.3 V6. I pull a 17 ft fiberglass boat around all over the place with it. The 4×4 is nice to have on boat ramps. It gets about 14/15 pulling the boat if I am not hard on the throttle and gets around 18/19 unloaded. I would definitely go with the V6. You would be over working the 2.2 pulling a boat around!
