All I have to say is the nerve of some people. I would think that 40 perch per person to take home after a trip is enough fish to last a little while. Why would you want to take that many to begin with. 1 limit of sunfish for me and my daughter is enough for 3 meals and I rarely ever take home my limit, not that I couldn’t but I would rather eat fresh fish versus frozen fish.

Must be nice to get healthy donations to campaign funds to vote no…I think I am going to start a SAVE THE SQUIRREL campaign because I think there are too many nuts and not enough squirrels…

There was a perch jerk on Pokegama this weekend and another perch jerk on Dunbar, didn’t hear of one on Round not that there wasn’t one.

I myself have the magic 16″ mark for crappies on my mount list. A few years ago I took my aunt out fishing on Red Lake for some Memorial Day walleye fishing and she caught a 16 3/4 inch crappie and just wanted her picture taken with it. I thought about a replica or just mounting the fish for myself since she didn’t want to. I would have even put her name on the plaque.

Mike I think your question deserves some answers and noticing your title it calls for you to go do some “In Depth” reporting. . I am sure the fish bite up that ways all year long.

I like your thinking; I may have to schedule a trip to one of the local watering holes in that area to see if they are biting…

Been there before man, one winter I put up a dummy house with my name on it in complete no man’s land to see if people would would show up an fish. Sure enough within two weeks there 4 permanent houses and people fishing in portables. Not even sure if there was fish near there cause I never wet a line. My tactic is never fish a spot two days in a row it makes people curious to come try it out.

Pug you are absolutely correct, also according to science in studying glacial ice they estimate that the earth is 10,000 years overdue for another ice age. Also, Global Warming is a precursor to an ice and has happened many time in the history of earth; its away of Mother Nature cleaning house per say. The scary thing is that the human population has sped up the global warming process by hundreds of years.

Who said the discovery channel and the internet aren’t a valuable source for information.

The DNR won’t give a free pass for catching walleys in March on Red even if you play the dumb card, I would head to LOTW or Rainy. I have preference to LOTW and will be heading there the first weekend in March myself.

And he still gets paid to play the game which means he must be better than a lot of other quarterbacks, which doesn’t really speak highly of the quarterback talent pool in the NFL for back-ups cause he is downright awful…but he does still get paid to play the game.

What species are you fishing for; that is a big determination on where to fish?

I watched that yesterday, I think the video is hilarious and a great way to tell your coach off. However one of the most immature and unsportsmanlike think I have ever seen in High School Sports. Again freakin’ hilarious wish I could have been at the game to see it live and watch the coach’s reaction.

Agree totally with tougher prisons. Prisons now days are like a big frat house, big screen TV’s, video games, gym equipment, 3 square a day. Heck if you can’t find a job and your parents won’t let you live with them why not go to prison rent and utility free and all the accomodations of a country club.

I think more states should do like Sherrif Joe in Arizona make them suffer the elements in the middle of BFE somewhere. I could find a nice bog somewhere in Northeastern MN, in the summer they can suffer the mosquitos, humidity heat and shower with swamp water if its a wet year; and in the winter they can deal with the cold and snow and if they want heat go get some firewood. No electricity no running water let them figure out how to survive the elements.

Thanks for sharing, and your right if you are the macho type and have a little girl of your own don’t watch until you are at home by yourself in the closet with the radio or TV turned up really really loud.

[quote • Ice anglers must remain within sight of their lines or within 200 feet of
    their tip-up.

All this time I was just going by the within sight rule, guess I need to keep reading the fine print…Guess I don’t need to bring the spotting scope out to the lake to keep an eye on my tip-ups anymore…
