Jamaian Me Crazy from Cameron’s is great. So is the Christmas blend from Starbucks.

There’s a very large fishing pier in Venice, and fishing off the beaches is always a good bet. If you will have a car there, just north is Siesta Key and fishing off the beaches there is great. Especially the south end away from all the crowds and swimmers.
February 22, 2013 at 7:17 pm #1144861Sorry that I didn’t get around to posting last Sunday. I had some things come up and wasn’t able to make the trip. Plans are on for this Sunday though! Thanks for all the advice and i’ll be sure to post a report this time
February 21, 2013 at 4:18 am #1144239Been there and stayed on Siesta Key. Definitely recommend renting kayaks and checking out the water. You can paddle back to some awesome beaches. Also the fishing off the beaches there is very hard to beat.
February 20, 2013 at 6:41 pm #1144037Top notch customer service is always a huge thing. Just look at all the customer service rants on here
February 17, 2013 at 6:06 pm #1142825I believe they are legal here. I’ve seen them used before and was told they were legal last winter, although that was coming from a guy selling them at a fishing show.
February 14, 2013 at 6:52 pm #1141872I recently got the verizon plan. I get 2 mg of data every month and I came pretty close last month, but Im in college so I use it a lot. 2 mg was way more than I thought it was going to be. I have an iphone, and highly recomend them. Feel free to ask any specifics.
February 4, 2013 at 4:30 pm #1137943Heck of a deal, Paul. Wish I could take you up on it, but it’s a little out of my range. Bought a Frabill pop-up last weekend, so my fishing budget is a little shallow
February 4, 2013 at 3:59 pm #1137926Lied on the count when I posted that (it was late). 13 perch, 1 crappie, and 1 bluegill. Also had a DNR officer come out and chat for a half hour. Another good experience with the Iowa DNR. Always nice to see them out in a positive way and not just checking licenses becuase they have to.
February 4, 2013 at 3:56 pm #1137924I’ll get a picture up soon. Silver slender spoons and purple sparkle lil’ mics were the spoon of choice. Tried tipping them with everything all morning (waxies, spikes, minnow heads, gulp, nothing) and really had to work for them. About noon when I switched out a dead shiner on one of the flags I decided to try a little strip of meat off it. Couldn’t believe the difference it made! They started smacking the spoons. Basically would cut the fillet off the shiner, cut it into strips (maybe 1/4″ wide, 1″ long) and would then split the bottom half of each piece once it was on the hook. Hope that makes sense.
February 4, 2013 at 3:04 pm #1137906Adding on to that, I have never fished with two vexilars in one hut. How bad is the interference? I know there is no issue between vex/humminbird, and i’m assuming there is no issue with a vex/marcum combo. Thanks again.

Hey Dan, sounds like a great way to spend a February day! There are a number of posts about your fish dip lately. Could you post your recipe with ingredient measures? I really want to try it
X2! Sounds great!February 4, 2013 at 5:26 am #1137809We have a family friend who lives in Mora and have fished knife a number of times. I suggest spending some time watching the sonar and finding some structure. We always catch them on shallow brush (5-10FOW). Some awesome lakes in that area! Be sure to check out Lewis Lake for crappies too……..
January 30, 2013 at 9:06 pm #1136341I own a fl-8 and I have yet to have an issue with it. I also have yet to have a time where I felt that it was “not enough”. I don’t plan on upgrading anytime soon because it does everything I need it to. There is my opinion on my vex. Can’t make a comparison since I haven’t used any Marcums enough to make a decision, but they do seem pretty nice.
January 30, 2013 at 2:45 pm #1136199Crazy. It was almost 60 here yesterday. Woke up to several inches of ice and snow and a forecast for -9 tomorrow!
January 30, 2013 at 2:43 pm #1136198Looks good Randy. This weather is painful. I had the same urge yesterday and started filling up the fly box will post a picture whenever I figure out how
January 26, 2013 at 3:25 am #1134878Paid 2.96 last weekend. Up to 3.29 now. And I think Pug is right
January 23, 2013 at 6:09 pm #1133899I’ve looked at the Clam Tamarack and for $75+ cheaper than a one man sled it seems like a pretty good deal. Plus the extra room is always nice.
January 23, 2013 at 4:52 pm #1133858Never thought of using a bow case for ice rods. That’s a really good idea….. But I do have a similar sled that fits in my back seat, so the pop up style wouldn’t be too bad. How easy is it to move those? I’m not talking hole hopping, but I don’t want to spend too much time messing around when I need to move.
January 23, 2013 at 3:56 pm #1133838I was looking at the clam but wasn’t sure if it would fit. What kind of car do you drive?
January 21, 2013 at 9:34 pm #1133334Doesn’t look like i’ll be able to make it. Would consider coming up after work on Saturday and fishing all day Sunday though if people are still going to be hanging around….
January 21, 2013 at 9:19 pm #1133329Sounds cool. So they’re just using them to get out to the channel?
January 21, 2013 at 9:16 pm #1133326Hey Josh, I was at a bait shop last weekend that had a room where they were growing genetically modified minnows that grew without bodies, so I know what you’re talking about
