I am definitely a “fanboy” of the Suffix 832, another excellent tool to use in the arsenal! I have been using 12# on the river this summer pulling cranks, am very pleased with the results, will never use traditional leadcore again. The sensitivity(with leadcore?!) is excellent and it is easy to tell if the crank is working correctly by observing the tip of the rod vibrating. Another advantage is I can use smaller reels to achieve the same depths I did with traditional core loaded on larger reels. Plus….you actually feel the fight of the fish, doesn’t feel like you are reeling in a water-logged mattress!

My fishing partner Destry and I are leaving P4 and heading up to Superior early Saturday to try our hand at trolling the big lake. Last September was the ony time I have fished for lakers/salmon on Superior, went out on a charter based out of Bayfield and it was was a blast! We are taking my boat and planning on fishing somewhere in Minnesota waters. Thanks for posting your reports, now we won’t be going up totally blind!

Thanks for your input guys, HB is the way I’ve been leaning towards for many of the same reasons you have posted. I’ve heard nothing but great things about HB customer service and it is only 40 miles from my home, if needed.
