I would like to say thanks to Steve and Kari for getting us stuff set out for us to fish early!! They are great people and did an awesome job with keeping boats/trailers moving in and out without any issues!! Everts is back and awesome like the past Thanks again Steve and Kari

I would like to second that! I have ben fishing Pool 5 for years, and finally made it over to fish Pool 4 yesterday. The crew at Everts was nothing short of helpful and hospitable! I will definitely be back!

BTW I got a little of that Humble Pie too! Not only did I burn up my bilge pump and have to run to Red Wing to buy a new one, but also found a wing dam that was hiding under the surface! My skeg got a bit scuffed up! (So that’s what those marks meant on my Lake Insight!)

Yes they catch fish! They have the holographic designs too. I caught quite a few walleyes trolling a holographic perch pattern last summer. As a matter of fact it was the only lure that was catching walleyes on my lone trip to Castle Rock last year.

I completely understand the $5 fee. Alma has a decent landing complete with restroom facilities, that costs money to operate. I am sure the residents of Alma do not want their taxes raised to support it, especially those who do not fish or use the river for recreational purposes.

As for thinking it will hurt tourism, if you are already making the trip to Alma, what’s another $5? You’re likely going to burn more gas than that on the river alone.

Also, I live in the Chippewa Valley, where Eau Claire County landings all have a $3 daily or $25 annual launch fee. Some of these landings are not kept up very well at all, and I have wondered why anyone would ever pay to use one of them, so I do understand some of the frustration that comes with paying a launch fee. But I am always impresses with the way the city of Alma does with the landing. To me , this is a justifiable expense.

Now now it’s not nice picking on the Vikings. They have had it rough! I mean, they can’t even eat cereal because every time they get close to a bowl they choke!

Thats funny right there I don’t care who you are!

I will echo that. Fitante did a superior job on a lake run brown trout for me. And my uncle had a nice musky done by Lax. Both are absolutely beautiful. IMHO some of these reproductions look better than actual skin mounts, and they don’t rot. Winning!

Was that you with the Red Lund and Rod and Gun? I noticed the license plate. Are you the same guy that sends the Cardinal Flight updates by email? Just wondering.

BTW you did better tah I did. I was fishing a spot for crappies that usually produces very well for me and caught 3 smallmouth. All very nice footballs though. That place is gonna be a zoo on Saturday!

I haven’t been having a poblem catching walleyes, but they have all been around the ten inch mark. Can’t seem to catch anything bigger right now.

Bigpike, somebody probably already has tried on Marshmiller! A couple years ago I was there first ice, and kind if scared even to walk out, when some dummy pulled up next to me in his F150. Not a good feeling!

I have heard of the bozo that has broken through Altoona twice. Odds are, it will happen a third!

Nice walleyes Louis! That spot looks familiar Not that I’ll have a chance to make it down there! It is pretty cool when you catch a fish on an artificial you made yourself, very rewarding!

That would not be a bad idea considering the fine you could get for not cleaning up! Yep Dave, I was on the Rock this summer and experienced some very green water that stuck to the side of your boat. I put in at the Dirty Turtle, and luckily they had a hose too. It would be nice to have one on Wissota, but would cost some money to get going. But hey, it’s a great business op if somebody wants to take it up!

There’s bigger ones in there, I saw a buddy pull out a 16″ about 10 years ago through the ice. Spring, though, is definitely the best time to catch em!

Sully, that was 15 1/2″ caught it on opening day. Usually, even with the slab crappies, we get em up and swing them into the boat. Not the case with this one! Man there’s some slabs in that lake!
