Hey Jeff, nice fish. Looks like I’ve been missing some good walleye action, Been too busy having fun with smallies on Geneva and Pine. Question; with the heavy rains we had and more on the way does the fishing get better, worse or indifferent on Kosh with the fresh water coming in? Also were would be the best place to launch a larger boat/motor without driving across the whole lake. I don’t know the lake that well and don’t want to catch a rock bar etc.

Pine lake launch is $6.00 during the week. Take 83 north (real curvy) to hwy K right on K about 1/2mi.Yeah it’s a zoo on weekends unless it’s kinda crumby out. Jeff if your not familiar with the lake stay at least 200yds off the north end of the island. Theres a rocky point that comes up from over 40′ to less than a foot. On the west side of lake about even with the island theres a bay called sauerkraut bay. Good for pike and walleye. East side of lake theres a little bay that has a point shaped like a hook (if you have a map) good for everything in the a.m. smallies definitely prefer leeches to crawlers, natural colors, the lake water is very clear with sparse vegetation good luck If your gonna go during the week post a day in advance and I’ll see if I can get out there. Maybe we could get databoy, or lundmann out there.
Lundmann, did you ever get up to the Wolf River this spring?
I’ll probably hit Oconomowoc Lake this weekend. Walleyes are hittin there but only got 2 legals out of 13 fish 18″ minimum.

Hey Jeff, I remember seeing a post of yours on lake-link I think where you said to watch the crows to see if they’re on the walls catching craws. Have you been getting any action on cats at all? I was doing real good on crappie on Pine Lake but Tuesday got skunked. Bass should start moving in with some stable weather. Excellent lake for both LM & SM decent pike too. Limited to 18 trailers though so get there early on weekends or after 4pm and wait. I live in Pewaukee and fish the area lakes at least 2x weekly, email and I can get more specific. Good luck guys, I might take the kids to Tichigan, their supposed to be killing cats and the crumb-snatchers want to try it.

Sorry, not a post on walleyes but they aren’t the only fish in the water. A friend at work is crazy about catfish and wants me to take him out fishin. The only thing I know about em is people use stink bait. Jeff or anyone else got any tips or a few spots to try. I don’t know Kosh but I’d try it. I have a new Stratos w/ a 150 on it and don’t want to hit no rock bars. Also a good place to launch. The river should come up some with this weeks rain.

All, I’ve trying my luck further up river by Jefferson. Fishing from the RR bridge down to the first bend. Same as by Fort, lots of small fish. Did manage to pick up 2 keepers both 17″.Lundman you should be alright up at the Wolf. I have a ex-brother in law that lives up there and am going up for a 4 day’er this weekend. Stay away from Orihula and Fremont and you should be OK. I fish out of Weyawega, it’s much quieter the farther you go up.Their starting to get the males pretty regular, started heating up about 4days ago. 3/8 oz chartruse and orange the hot color. Good luck and tight lines to all.

Jeff, not a fishing report but a suggestion. I’m ordering some Fin-Tech jigs for my trip to the Little Wolf River next weekend and would like to take a variety of colors along. It would be really nice if Fin-Tech offered a 20-30 pack of assorted colors all the same size. I figured with your connections you may want to suggest it.

Is there a decent landing between Jefferson and the rapids besides the one below the dam in Jefferson? Or a place I could just throw in my duck boat? Jeff, would I be able to toss my duck boat in right at the rapids? Seems like they could possibly stack up there before heading up river.

All the guys I know that fish em on the Wolf say you must throw em in ice immediately and their only good in spring when their flesh is still firm. I guess they get mushy later in the year. Not sure, I always C & R whites.

Late post, fished Sunday 1-7 again all shorts, 1 cat ~4#. Think I seen databoy by K-Mart, was gonna stop and say hi but I don’t want to disturb anyones fishin. Tried out the new boat I was in the Stratos fish n ski. Can anyone enlighten me on the river up stream from the K-Mart launch? Does it stay shallow? Any difficulties taking a bigger boat up that way? I want to try something different to see if I can locate bigger fish and look for some future cat holes. My kids love fishin for catfish. Tight Lines.

Fished noon – 7:30pm between the barrels and 106 bridge. Caught 19 eyes, all darts most on mud minnows they didn’t seem to like the shiners, green/glow and pink/white with no twister produced best. No one else around us caught a legal that I seen. 2 guys said they had one each earlier. Thought for sure with all the little males that the bigger fish would be scattered in. May try again tommorrow. Was going to head to the mouth but didn’t hear any possitive reports from others. Tight lines

Jeff, playing hooky today from work should get to the river ~10am. Got my Alumacraft ready “Orgasm” (long story). Where can I order zone-r jigs? I looked everywhere, thanks for all the advise, let you know how I did. I stumbled on a trick at the little wolf last year, gonna give it a try on the rock 2 see if it will work down here. Tight lines FSHRMN

    Hey Jeff (BOLA)
Finally made it to your new site, it’s great. Still trying to figure everything out. I have one question, I’ll be bringing my 12′ rowboat w/ a trolling motor, would I be better off staying up by Jefferson or down where the Bark enters the Rock? I can throw it in just about anywhere I can get to water. No locator unfortunatly.
