Yeah I think that I have been getting the run around so will check the cables first. And it also sounds like special tools are needed to get these rebuilt properly.

A problem I have now is that Cabelas Marine in Rogers has already taken it apart so will need someone with skills to put it back together. Plus side I can inspect the gears myself and see if I was getting snowed. Haven’t cleaned the gears up enough yet to see what is damaged if any.

    Thanks for the replies.

I unhook the safety chain on mine before backing it in. Keep the strap connected until it is backed in. Back in, start boat, then unhook the strap.

2X. Really like my Shorelander with rollers just a simple shove and it is off the trailer. Don’t need to completely float the boat before launching which is great for shallow landings.

They cannot be stopped. The sooner everyone accepts that the better off we will all be. I think.

I am kind of leaning that way myself.

Agreed and the best we can do is try to slow the spread. With about 800,000 boats registered (this includes basically anything that floats) many lakes will be infested. Zebra Muscle stew?

Fixed. The line from the oil reservoir to the pump was broken so replaced all of the oil lines. Then fired it up to find out the impeller was not working so $43 bucks and an hour later life is good.

The three boats must all be within your price range otherwise there wouldn’t be much of a question. So consider which boat is most bang for the buck and meets your needs. Big lakes versus smaller lakes, electronics already installed, trolling motor, which one has new batteries, decent trailer and on and on.

I just bought a new to me bought this spring and went though the licensing thing here in Minnesota. It was a good thing I bought the rig from a good friend of mine and that he had it properly titled and all that so it was fairly easy. And yes they asked me ‘did it come with a trailer’ to which I replied ‘Thank goodness I had a hatch back so I could get the 1200lb boat home!’ Yeah I had to transfer owner ship to myself and it helped that my friend was registered as the owner. All went fairly well with just two trips to the county office.

The pictures are just fine and I don’t know where to find 1″ berkly micro tube. I will be a Cabelas tonight and will see if I see any on the racks. Kind of doubting it though.

Thanks Dan. I plan on digging into it today as it a nice day out. (Don’t have to remove snow from the cover to get at it today )

I can’t speak from experience but Pro Power Sports in Ramsey is reasonable. Do you just need rings or new pistons and rings?

I will be picking up a Phantom v170 with a 115hp Mariner this spring. I have fished in this boat before and it works great for fishing but needs help with getting the boat on plane. Will try different props to get a better hole shot.

The same type of sound it typically makes but a little louder is all. More rattle if I have to put a label on it.

Fish Pokegama which is on the south end of Grand Rapids and stay at the Sawmill Inn on 169. See if you can rent a sled and trailer to get around the lake. Snowshoes is another option if you are stuck being a pedestrian.

The ice fishing opportunities are endless up there and there are a ton of smaller lakes if hiking two miles in knee deep snow is a problem.

Good luck and have a fun.

Works great and just get a different transducer that will mount to the boat. Makes for a great portable locator and will run off the 12 volt battery that may already be in you boat.

I have a soft sided, flat, zippered case with Velcro inside that works well and keeps the rods organized. It holds four rods well.
