*3 on the Black screen. I think it really helps lessen eye strain.

I don’t have a Garmin, but use a 2005 Lowrance 102C for ice fishing. I also have a Marcum LX6 and my boys fight over who gets to use the old Lowrance. It picks up the jig as well as the Marcum and they think easier to use.
February 7, 2017 at 8:41 am #1671911Oh… the low light tip is spot on. Things were pretty slow until about 30 minutes after dark and then everything lit up.
January 24, 2017 at 12:03 am #1668040I’m not holding out hope…but maybe someday soon we’ll get those morons now running Washington to accept that climate change is real, and actually do something about while an ice belt in America still exists…
yeah I remember those days when it never got above 32 in winter… back in BC 10,000 or something. Amazing how things have changed so soon.
September 29, 2016 at 11:00 pm #1642341Steve nailed it. That opening ceremony was emotional many levels including Patriotism, Golf and The Palmer effect. Being a golf fan and living in Chaska this is an incredible experience. My son,age 15, caddies at Hazeltine and was fortunate enough to Caddy for Kurt Russell in the Ryder Celebrity event. He had a great time and had nothing but positive remarks about MR. Russell, of course I had to tell him about all great Movies before Miracle:) He had no idea who Snake Plisskin was…kids.
February 12, 2016 at 8:25 pm #1599533The geometry of the 5 side offers better external wind deflection and more internal space configuration options. The extra cost is due to the additional components and labor involved to create the product.
January 28, 2016 at 9:03 am #1596226Unless I am missing something I wonder why no one has manufactured/marketed rattle reel line in Bright colors? It is great for noticing fish and bait movements, fixing fisherperson tangles and dealing with 3:00 AM eel pout messes. With all the wheelhouses in use now you would think the market is large enough.
January 27, 2016 at 11:22 am #1595905I also like hi vis flyline with a flourocarbon leader. Many bait stores carry mill end fly line for this purpose. 30 yards for $4 or $5.
January 12, 2016 at 10:59 pm #1592133I dont get what market they are going for with the crossovers. It would seem you either need space for more than 2 or need to carry it in a non-pickup vehicle in which case you use a HUB. Or you can carry a flipover and like the self containment and mobility of it and get that. What is the extra space for in the crossover? I have never been in one and don’t know, just a question and pardon my ignorance. I initially thought that’s cool, but after a while thought why deal with it?
January 4, 2016 at 10:53 pm #1589761Woman Lake is actually nearing the end of a large Study of the effects of stocking vs. natural production as the lake has both. It has been historically stocked because it has one of the main state walleye egg stripping sites off the river on the NW side. They have reduced the replenishment of these stripped eggs at set levels to monitor what the effect is on the fish population to get a better understanding of fry stocking on all lakes. I think we are in year 8 or 9 of a 10 year study. A lot of people have been upset by the reduced put back into the lake since most all of the eggs/future fish go elsewhere. While not scientific by any means, I think there has been a decrease in fish population but it has not been as drastic as the 75%+/- reduction in restocked fry.
To the original post it is a wonderful lake with populations of Walleye, Pike into the 30’s, both smallmouth and largemouth, panfish, very few but big Muskies and I think the next State Record Rock Bass:)

November 24, 2015 at 10:27 am #1579351Great Show! Thanks for posting as I forgot to record on the new sat box. My fishing pal also uses the technique that produced the third fish:)
EJJanuary 30, 2015 at 5:18 pm #1505025I love the two graphs with both 8 and 20 cones! Could watch whole area beneath portable as well as isolate my jig.

January 27, 2015 at 9:56 pm #1503508I see that Kent. I just wanted peoples thoughts on this because we all look at things differently. I never had a flasher. I always used a graph from the boat on ice and got used to that. I liked the history, quietness, ability to see reactions and if I looked away for a second then I could catch back up. People with flashers caught as many, or more fish, than me at the same time. Maybe because they were always more focused on the “now” and I was lazy. I just moved up from my “boat” graph to an LX6 and I am looking forward to using it and curious to why people used different displays. Thanks.
January 27, 2015 at 8:34 pm #1503472Curious why buy an LX7 if you are not going to use graph and or zoom bars. They display things as well as and with more information than the flasher screen which is just designed to look like a Vex. Just wondering.
January 13, 2015 at 9:40 pm #1496939They have a Target Adjust feature that you most likely have adjusted differently.
December 17, 2014 at 10:12 pm #1485504Incredible deal. I couldn’t resist. It says no battery, but shipping weight is 14 LBS. So I wonder. If they can sell at $425 why is no one else dropping below $599?
March 13, 2014 at 9:24 pm #13959244-EYES,
I have had an 1850 since 2005. It was one of the first boats sold here in that model. At the time I was looking at Lund TyEE or Stratos 386 until I saw finish of the Ranger. Sold me. Deep enough for Mille Lacs and LOTW most times, pulls my kids on tubes and boards, fishes eyes great on Woman, casts OK for bass and Muskies. If a guy was hardcore casting this would not be the boat. It does a good job trying to cover all bases and that is what my family needs. No Problems in 9 years and would do it again.
EJMarch 13, 2014 at 9:06 pm #1395921I am a Sportsman and work in real estate in the West Metro. I am continually frustrated and baffled by the opinions of some lake shore owners and lake associations. Not all by any means, but many have the attitude of lake “ownership” when it is a public body of water. The drain water, check boat and trailer for weeds and invasive rules are good. BUT, they are already in place. Enforce those rules to the limit with what enforcement is in place. Educate those uneducated. What we can not do is let access to public waters be denied under the guise of invasive species. That unfortunately is what too many of those that finally reach the Holy Grail of lake shore ownership want not only thrust upon us, but also want public dollars spent for enforcement.
February 21, 2014 at 7:16 pm #1390683Very happy with them. Easy to put in in position you want and simple drag/tension adjustment. Have used in wheelhouse for several years and would not go back to traditional or Lindells.

I use the ratchets on mine in the water whenever I leave it in. Take your cover in to get it modified, it’s a great investment!
Do you place a support pole up front and then reach around in back to get at the rear ratchets?
February 14, 2014 at 10:24 pm #1388807Why is this something being discussed for only for a few select SW Metro Lakes? Because it might help or because there are wealthy lake shore owners/associations? Cats out of the bag. Enforce universal rules and laws, but don’t limit my access because some see this a means to lower lake traffic. I check my boat and drain my wells. If you need a class or check point to follow those rules you shouldn’t have a boat.
January 31, 2014 at 4:07 pm #1384869I am very glad the hard water electronics are finally going this direction. I have been using my Lowrance 102C for ice graphing since 2005 because of the history of fish response to jigging action as was mentioned previously. It is also beneficial if you look away for a few seconds to see if something was missed, this may have been a flicker on a flasher that you would otherwise have missed. Saving up so I can get a dedicated hardwater Marcum instead of swapping stuff out of the boat.
January 30, 2014 at 9:27 pm #1384640I have Lowrance H2O with Chip and run Navionics on Samsung S4. Lowrance updates more quickly when moving around to locate precise spots, but both otherwise have similar accuracy and, yes, the Smartphone has GPS. Phone also has a much more easily read screen.
January 22, 2012 at 3:46 pm #1030930Bob, I have been looking at the Yetti and trying to figure out how I could get a ramp door, fold down booth, bunks, coach and closet/kids bathroom layed out. You did it perfectly!! I would love to see that in person some time. Thank you for the great photos!
