Aaron Rogers (in reality, his rookie season), played 100 million times better than T-Jack and that other old guy they had. And….statistically speaking, Rogers was in the top 10 in passer rating this past season. I think the joke is on the “Queenies” QB’s

I guess you viking fans can only hope that Favre throws some interceptions and that they can run them back for a TD. That seems to be the only means of scoring points for the vikes. The points are certainly not coming from their offense. I too predict that the PACK IS BACK!!!!!
April 28, 2007 at 2:26 pm #565799We have a big 2 story house with 4 bedrooms upstairs. Our bedroom and 3 kids’s bedrooms. We have run into the same problem. Although I like the idea of having the air/fan run all the time on the a/c, the only thing I think about then is the electric bill. The one thing we did was put ceiling fans/lights in the bedrooms and turn them on low. It help to circulate the air pretty good, and are also quiet. Then, by the time the wife and I go to bed, things seem to have cooled down a little bit and we then go in and turn the fans off. Just an idea… Hope it helps.
March 2, 2007 at 5:32 pm #543920I would like to see the following lakes done:
Lake Bemidji (Beltrami County)
Blackduck Lake (Beltrami County)
Lake Plantagenet (Hubbard county)
Lake of the Woods (By Wheeler’s Point) (LOW County)September 6, 2006 at 12:19 am #475209I put a trolling plate on my 50 h.p. merc 4 stroke and it was wonderful. No problems what so ever. I would not hesitate to put one on. I also took it on and off depending what kind of fishing I was going to do and did not notice anything.
July 12, 2006 at 4:17 pm #460025I don’t think my last reply went through, so I’ll try again. DUI’s are a very serious thing in Canada. I went with a guy about 5 years ago who had gotten a DUI the year prior to that. They made a big deal about it. We had to go into the office and they did not want to let him cross. Good thing one of the other guys with us was his attorney. To make a long story short, he had to apply for a permit to enter Canada. That is not the proper name for the paperwork, but that is essentially what it is. It costs about $200 at the time and he had to renew it each year for 3 years I think. Every time after that when we crossed the border, went into the office, showed them the paperwork and they let us through. We never had a problem. It was inconvenient to stop, but we played it safe. So… with all of this said, I am not sure if one could go as far as saying they will not let anyone cross who has had a DUI. I think it is still possible, but there is a lot of paperwork one has to do and it takes months for all of it to be completed. Like I said, this guy’s permit was valid for 3 years. Since then, for about the last 2-3 years, he has not done any paperwork and we have not had any issues at the border. I hope this helps.
July 12, 2006 at 1:34 pm #459943I have been crossing at Baudette for the past 15 years or so. I can count on one hand the number of times we had to wait more than 10 minutes. We have been asked a couple of times on the way up, to pull over so they could do a quick look through our stuff, but they did not tear everything apart. We simply had to show them our liquor. It was a quick 5 minute deal, and we were then on our way. On they way back in, you do have to pull over so they can look under your boat cover (if you have one), but then you are on your way. Like I said, I have rarely had to wait more than 10 minutes to get back into USA. I have experienced the hour + wait at I-Falls and have heard the horror stories of people waiting 3 hours to cross. I have also heard the horror stories of the people at I-Fall tearing your car apart and then you having to put it back together. I will not go to I-falls if I can help it. Like I said, I have always had good luck at Baudette. It may be a few miles further, but well worth it in my opinion.
Good luck!May 31, 2006 at 5:35 pm #450489Yes, the Drake motel is a nice place and it is actually only 37 miles to Waskish from Blackduck.
May 31, 2006 at 3:39 pm #450446I agree with all the others. I have been there a lot and most recently on Sunday afternoon. Fatheads and a small jig. I have gone out of Rogers Resort on the south shore. $5 launch fee but well worth it. You do not have to mess with the current in the river and any wind if there is any. Also, Rogers has very nice facilities, fish cleaning shack, and they do a pretty good job of pointing you in the right direction. They also have a good website with a pretty decent fishing report. If you do a search under Rogers Campground Red Lake it should get you there. We went out and to the right on the lake about a mile down the shore in about 7 FOW. The walleyes all but jumped in the boat and we did manage to get a few crappies as well before the storm came. Like someone also mentioned, be sure to pinch the tail and get a good measurement on the walleyes. Hope this helps. Good luck.
May 13, 2006 at 2:15 am #446046I had one on my 50 merc 4 stroke (I sold the boat this spring). Anyway… It was a toll-A-matic. I thought it worked great on this size motor. Without it I could get down to about 1.3 m.p.h. on a flat calm day. With the trolling plate, I fot down to about .4 mp.h. However, on those days I would use the electric. Where it worked great was on those days that were a little too rough for the electric. I could backtroll perfectly. It was a spring loaded plate that bolted onto the motor. It would flip up when you went fast and go back down when you slowed down. I like it in the fact that it does not have any cables or anything that you have to pull in order to fip it up etc… The only drawback to the whole thing was that when I had it on, I lost about 2-3 mp.h. on the top end speed. However, I did think it was worth it. I hope this helps answer your question. Please let me know if you would like more info.
May 3, 2006 at 6:31 pm #443365Thanks for all the replies. We got to the English River NW of Kenora. We typically use jig and cralwer/leeches. It works very well, but was just thinking about the minnows. We have had good success with powerbait twister tails and some have tried gulp. They both worked well also. Thanks again.
April 28, 2006 at 2:39 pm #441809I think the Pack got a quality player in Woodson. Anything is better than Ahmad Carrol who got burned NUMEROUS times this past year. And not to mention how many illegal contact penalties he had called on him in crucial situations that kept the drive alive for the other team. I agree with the other guys in the other forum on Brett Favre, in that it looks like the Pack is loading up on the defensive side of the ball, and not helping Brett out by getting some quality receivers. I guess we will have to wait and see. Hopefully with Samkon Gado, William Henderson, and Ahman Green back this this year, they can all stay healthy and give the Pack some sort of a running game. This would help take some of the pressure off of Favre. GO PACK!!!!
April 26, 2006 at 8:27 pm #441368Q: What do you call a Minnesota Viking with a superbowl ring
on his finger?A: A Thief!!!!
Q: Where should everyone go in MN if there is a tornado sighting?
A: The metrodome. There are never any touchdowns in there.
The PACK will be BACK!!!!!! You wait and see.
April 18, 2006 at 5:52 pm #439205Thanks. I found it and adjusted it accordingly. I just have to take it out for a spin again and see how it goes. Thanks again.
March 28, 2006 at 3:31 pm #433922I was in the same boat as you last year. My kids are now 5 and 7 and the few times i did get them in the boat in years past, the attention span was about 1 hour tops. This last summer however, there was abig change. You always hear that you should introduce kids to fishing by taking them bluegill fishing so they can get some action and hopefully get “hooked” on fishing. Well, last spring I took the kids to Upper Red Lake in search of those huge crappies. It was a beautiful day and we managed to catch 20+ crappies. But the bonus was we caught over 40+ 2 pound walleyes. After that day of fishing they are always asking, “When can we go to Red Lake?” I can not wait to get back there this spring and get some crappies and even more so, keep some of those walleyes. Spending time with the kids in the boat is priceless. Hopefully your kids will continue to enjoy fishing as much as mine do.
March 7, 2006 at 3:25 pm #427437Turning your cheek the other way and ignoring it is not the way to go. This sends a message to whoever did dump the stuf there that it is o.k. and nobody cares. Do you have children? Are there children in your neighborhood? By saying nothing it is an invitation to those drug dealers and pot smokers that your neighborhod is an o.k. place to hang out. Sure, it is just a little pot, but what’s next. The bottom line is that it is illegal and needs to be reported! Do the right thing!
February 24, 2006 at 6:11 pm #424119I bought a used boat from CPM in St. Cloud 2 years ago and had pretty good luck with everything. The boat I bought had a 50 2 stroke on it. I was in the process of trying to sell my old boat and I wanted to keep the motor on that. CPM was willing to swap the motors and very willing to negotiate when doing this. At that time,I had an overall good/pleasant experience with CPM. However, this was 2 years ago, and when I checked into buying a new boat there this year, it was all new salesmen from the last time I was there and I did not have a very friendly/good experience. I think things have changed a little within the past year or two. This thread gives me a whole new insight with CPM.
February 11, 2006 at 12:52 pm #419782I know a guy who is looking for a 50 4 stroke tiller. Here is his e-mail address : [email protected] Good luck with your sale.
January 21, 2006 at 8:08 pm #413607You are correct in the $ differnce. Both are nice boats and set ups. Thanks for all the info.
January 20, 2006 at 7:15 pm #413436I live in Bemidji and get the report on a regular basis. It is still the same old story. Walleyes are biting like crazy and most people are catching 1-3 crappies if any at all. It also sounds like the big pike are getting a little more active. You can also check out Roger’s Campground website. He gives a pretty honest and recent report. Here is the link: http://www.rogerscg.net/welcome_page.htm Good Luck!
