I’m looking for recommendations for a good pair of ice cleats for my sz. 13 Muck Artic Pros..Yes, I know I have big feet. For smaller Columbia boots I’ve used the Yaktraks with decent success. But they just don’t stay on the shape of the Arctic Pros as well. Also the thinner pieces of rubber like to snap when pulling them on in cold temps. I’m also looking for something a little more aggressive traction-wise than the springs. Any suggestions on brands and/or types that have worked well for large sized boots with bigger profiles?

I have the same boots, except their 15’s. I wear kahtoola. Nothing better.

I just checked their website- does the XL size fit your size 15 or did you find a xxl? Just curious on how I should order them? It says XL is for up to 13.5, but with that bigger profile, should I be trying to look for a xxl?

Thanks everyone! Brad- I thought about that, but I don’t want to make them a permanent fixture on the boot, as I wear them for lots of other things… I’ll check out the kahtoolas! Especially if fishblood has a size 15, and they stay on! I have to imagine that the profile in mucks are waaaay bigger in size 15 and still stay on! Cp3, I absolutely love them! They are by far the warmest boots I’ve ever owned! Plus the fact that they’re mid-calf and waterproof was a huge selling point. There’s almost no chance water or snow can get in there now, especially when you put the bibs over them and secure the Velcro cuff tightly. The only issue I’ve had- (and it’s probably more in relation to my foot sizing) is that my right foot is just a little smaller, which causes a little heel rubbing. I only notice it after long distance walks, and I’m still trying to find a solution to it. I’m thinking of trying to put a piece of moleskin attached to the boot in the heel area to make it fit a little tighter. But even with that issue, I’d still rather wear them than any other boot I have! I’m sure you’ll love yours! This will be my 3rd season with them, and have no issues with cracking or even spidering of the rubber yet.

Thanks guys- glad you enjoyed it! tomr- you have to make it up there, it’s great fishing and tons of fun. Plus, if you do a little research- it’s actually pretty reasonable price-wise.

When I was in the market last year for a new rod- the one main gap in my rods was an UL… I was using an old ugly stick with a very nice spring bobber on it, that worked well for smaller panfish, but I wanted to upgrade to a TUC rod based on all the positive reviews from everyone on here. But then I got in to the thought of do I really need to spend that money on a rod that is covering only 1/4 of the fishing that I actually do.I love and go walleye, whitefish, and pike fishing a lot as well. After talking with Reid and John at TUC, I realized that by getting a QT I wasn’t locking myself in to JUST a panfish rod. This allowed me to justify the purchase a little easier in my mind. I finally got to use it this past weekend on LOW. I paired it with multiple 1/8 spoons for walleye and I loved the feel of even the smallest 7″ saugers. I landed 3 walleyes over 25″ with ease and a bonus pike of 26″. It has plenty of backbone to handle the bigger fish, but with the tip as sensitive as it is- I didn’t miss any of the smaller fish. The one thing I did find out is that I’m not a huge fan of the reel bands. I have the split-grip handle and I do pencil grip my rods. I felt that on a few of the bigger fish the reel was pulling away from the cork… I landed the fish anyways, and they didn’t break- but it was just the feel I didn’t like. And I had 2 bands on each side, so maybe I should try 3 on each side?? But after day 1 of the weekend, I did end up taping it on. Just my ¢.02

I too got my first TUC rod this weekend! I got the 28″ QuickTip split grip. I can’t wait to get out and try it out! Talked with Adam last year at the show for almost an hour and couldn’t pull the trigger- I knew this year I was going to finally get one, and worked with Adam again this year. Great guys that have a phenomenal product! Christmas came early for me this year!
